In the Children’s section of the hospital I’m at, there’s 6 NICU nurses who all tested positive and are required to stay home. I’m friends with 2 of them and it’s “this sucks, fever is sh!tty, flu symptoms” there are 4 other strands of corona-virus that have been around for awhile. NO VACCINE EXISTS, and they’re all essentially variants of the flu

So in younger people, that’s how it presents

The older patients I take care of, yes, there is more of a concern. They typically go into ARDS (lungs fill with fluid) and we have to rotate them while they’re on a ventilator (literally turn their body into supine/prone/multiple positions) to help drain the fluid

However every single one of them has multiple co-morbities and have been extremely unhealthy for years if not decades

So yes, it is an issue. But no, I do not believe it is such an issue to lock down the entire planet over, especially when I would have likely been dealing with these extremely sick patients within a short matter of time anyway


Cliffs:
Covid sucks and is real

Almost exclusively in old people

Take care of your parents

Don’t destroy the entire world economy

I would’ve dealt with these patients regardless

Lotta COPE goin on round here. Florida, both socially and economically is taking a HUGE hit. You can blame us snowbirds, vacationers etc. but lets see how much y'all cry when your state, which caters to US NORTHNERS, gets hit in the pocketbook. I just pulled my hotel reservations. Orlando hotels are ROCK BOTTOM rite now. Check their prices. This will have a trickle down aeffect like you won't believe. People out of work, no one around, psychologically it will be devastating with everyone turning to Flocka, crack and meth. Get ready for TONS of stories of Florida man to come to a news station near you! The FlorPOCOPOLYPSE is COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
