Actually

Boy in the Striped Pajamas would probably be one of the most unsettling movies I watched

the scene that stick out to me is when the one dude is having sex with the corpse of a teenage girl in a bathtub.

Yeah you can feel your soul chill a little.

There is a Christmas eve scene that is pretty messed up too.

Men Behind The Sun, without a doubt. Absolutely sickening due to the fact it actually happened - and from what I’ve heard of Unit 731, the film pales in comparison to the reality. You won’t look at humanity the same way again after you’ve seen this.

Salo and Antichrist were both pretty uncomfortable too

If you are talking about Men Behind The Sun and Unit 731 you need to check out Philosophy of a Knife. IT's very long, 2 parts and in black and white.

Not really a great movie at all but some scenes were truly offputting even to myself.

I saw the trailer for that and it looked hellish. The length is what dissuaded me from watching it. Isn’t it like 4 hours?

I'm thankful I haven't watched any of the top hitters mentioned ITT.

Serbian Film
Salo
August Underground
Green Inferno.

I read the synopsis on these, and have absolutely no interest in watching that stuff, coupled with the misc warning me not to watch them. Curiosity does not get the best of me here.

Yeah 4 hours.

Cockroach scene was pretty bad. Just saying

People saying the Green Inferno was upsetting need to widen their viewing horizons, it was pretty weak and did not deliver at all.

I just read that August Undeground had two sequels, I had no idea. Holy effing crap at the synopsis of those. That chit is disturbing AF. No idea how someone can sit through that.

You're torturing yourself by reading that stuff mate.

The Road....It took me a good two weeks to get back to normal and I still think about it from time to time.

As a parent it was basically an ice pick to an open tooth nerve. It hit every fear a parent has about their kids.

Definitely avoid most of the movies posted itt if it took 2 weeks to get over The Road.

I must admit, since becoming a parent I can't watch most of this stuff anymore. Like Man Bites Dog was on of my top 3 for a long while, and it's only very mildly disturbing (you could even call it a comedy), but there are a couple of scenes that i can't stomach anymore.

Yeah lesson learned. I was curious, but not curious enough to actually watch it. Really makes you wonder what kind of messed up person conjures up this kind of movie.

dasitmane

movie was way ahead of it's time actually, and as you say it's a comedy (albeit a dark one)

also find it to be underrated, even in Belgium

Yep..We can handle our own pain and death but dealing with tragedy and or hardship for our own kids hits a different nerve.

As a parent I guess it would hit you differently.
I did like the end though. Were those people going to kill and eat the kid or genuinely look after him?

Had trouble sleeping the first time I saw Hereditary
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

I didn't find Hereditary super disturbing. But it was definitely unsettling. It’s more of a slow burn/psychological horror with some gory scenes thrown in. I enjoyed it very much and think it’s worth a watch if you are into HP Lovecraft cult tier.

There's an Italian movie called Anthropo****us.

I'm sure horror fans know this film.

The US release was retitled to The Grim Reaper and is available to watch on Amazon Prime actually. I watched it recently and the only two scenes that I noticed were missing are the fetus scene and the ending.

It's not a great movie, sure, but it does manage to conjure up some creepy imagery and some interesting shots. I liked George Eastman as the beast, especially in the scene where he's slowly climbing out of the well after the final girl. There's also a cool scene where the camera zooms in on his face covered in shadow that's quite creepy.

The Italian release is uncut if my memory didn't cheat me.

Avoid the American remake; it's an ultimate dog chit.
