not going to happen. people like me would increase the rent on property to keep the riff raff out. businesses would slowly jack up the price of their goods, all the while keeping salaries the same.

The problem with automation and eventual UBI is, its going to create a much larger wealth gap. Imagine for a second the US institutes UBI.


Not only will I keep working and making investments. But I'll invest every cent of my UBI as well. In 20 years I'll have generated a massive amount of wealth through hard work and investing as much capital as possible. A lot of people with careers/jobs are going to fit into that category.


So where does that leave the plebs who work a lower tier job and/or live off of UBI? Basically a slave that relies on government hand-outs. Good freaking luck on upward mobility/catching up. Good freaking luck when the cost of living increases.


I'm sure the idea of UBI sounds great in the short term. Especially to LDAR people that don't want to work or want to work a BS job like a barista. It might be alright in the short term for you. But eventually the cost of living will rise. You'll just be living in the projects/worse ghetto's surviving from government handouts.

they are just going to have to spit out more UBI to close the wealth gap, all the while put a cap for those that make too much.... which defeats the purpose of having UBI

I think the past is the future. Money will become useless this way, so skills and community will be huge.

Think amish, but more like modern amish.

They're trying to socially isolate everyone, break up the nuclear family, and create major divisions in society all for the purpose of making people wanting and needing the government. That way if something major happens, you don't have a community to help you out, you just have the government. That comes with a cost. The Amish for example have their churches and a community fund to help anyone with a major issue. House burned down? They'll all come and help build a new one. Major medical issues? Church will help pay for it.

Not today. Most churches are more worried about staying 501c3 than being Christian. So now we just have the government to loan you money and hold you by the hand.

That's the exact opposite of what you should want.

No but i believe union jobs should become more prevalent more jobs should unionize to fight for the workers fair share of income job protection and fair work conditions. this results in more spending, if that spending can be done on american goods and products all the better, more tax revenue makes the country stronger, cut down on illegal immigration and those who hire illegals while treating other countries fairly and helping them foster success at home as well as is possible, migrant workers still needed for many fields can be done legally. Ubi basically already exists if you go full welfare you get free living, free food, tanifl , medicaid. Entry level jobs dont need to be paid more but real careers need living power and a bigger cut, it has been trending the wrong way since the 80s


Chart above would be even more extreme if comparing 50s and 60s to now, by 1989 a lot of the damage was done

Well we just had the greatest transfer of wealth ever, and the destruction of small businesses at the expense of corporations.

Economy is going to be horrific coming up.
