Western societies are definitely more ghey and divided but not to the extent that everybody is just clinically depressed now.

well, i touched on it all before in a different post.

you see the consumer becoming more mobile. and businesses switching to this. as the adoption rate increased - and surpassed the "feature" phones more and more businesses would adopt to the consumer demand

prior, in its more rudimentary form, you see a burgeoning of shift but once it becomes mainstream there's more confidence it's a way of life and more and more changes are introduced

so for instance, if i am a website developer now i may focus HARD on mobile (due to the smart phone in their pocket.. also laptops) whereas in 2006 i may not

i will agree 2012 may not be the EXACT year, but that time period there are def. fundamental shifts
