If you don’t eat organic locally raised meats and dairy, you’re not technically natty.

Afternoon or night. Never really enjoyed morning workouts. Feel to groggy in the morning and not enough energy.
2. How often do you eat everyday?
5-6 meals a day 40%protien/40%carb/20%fat, i ve stuck to this eating habit over the years. Have not had a single day when protien intake was under 180ish grams
3. How many hours do you sleep a day?
Shoot for around 7 on week days and 8 on weekends.
4. What is the smartest thing you've done that makes a difference?
Get on a proven program and stick to it. And honestly the other smartest thing i ve done was to stick to it and not quit.
5. does your income require manual labor?
No not a tradie. My job right now required little physical effort. I have worked physical jobs in the past
6. home gym, commercial gym, other?
It was always commercial gyms for me. When covid came, i did get some barbells, a rack, and weights, and i can do most of my workouts from home now, and do this a couple times a week.
I still go to the gym a few times a week to for machines, dumbells, and other equipment. I also sometimes feel "stronger" in the gym. I think this is because in my own delusional mind, people "piss me off" in the gym, it triggers my adrenaline, and I at times "go harder".
Working out from home is peaceful, almost to peaceful.
7. do you believe lifting is as addictive as heroin?
Why have i stuck to is so long and why i been so religious about it. It must be addicting in some way. It is honestly "all i know" at this point, an ingrained habbit. I got into this chit before instagram made it cool. If you walked into a gym 17 years ago people were in there for different reasons then the people today. Today so many people are doing it to flex on the gram and to stay health, back then alot of dudes were doing it to stay health/ vent their physical energy.
If i wanted to I could go on the gram and post pictures of heavy lifts or decide to go on a cut and take my shirt off, no appeal in doing this. I mostly enjoy working out and do not need third part approval on social media. I guess i am doing it here a bit on bb.com, but this is really a shadow of a social media platform. I think people need to learn to be more humble with their workouts. My workouts will die with me and not live on a social media platform. So many fukin days spent busting my ass like my life depended on it and no one will ever see this, only god and I.
8. do you eat more healthy to make lifting better or less healthy and use lifting to justify that?
I always eat "moderately" (not perfect not horrible) and lift hard.
When summer comes around this is when i plan to get lean. Cut back on whole carbs and trade them in for more greens.
9. can you tell during warm ups if you're going to hit a PR?
Sometimes yes. But not always. Sometimes your "second" top set might feel heavy and you can have doubts in the back of your mind. Then when you approach the real "top" set, you still get it.
I'd say your mind set and adrenaline has a huge impact when your diet and sleep are on track. If you can't find a way to trigger into that adrenaline which in my mind gets "everything firing", you are screwed.
10. what is your philosophy of mind/matter?
Brought this up in the last question a bit, i wonder if what i consider "adrenaline" is really a way to trigger your mind / motor connectivity to be 100%.
There is some connection from mind "brain" to matter "body" for sure. If one of those are off you arent 100%.
For me on the mind/brain side of things there is plenty of fear (top sets can be scary, think about it squating 450lbs++ for reps and worrying about if you have to bail the weight and not injure yourself), anger (i dig into this place of doubt and denial, sometimes with the help of music, to piss myself off and get fired up for a set). Then there are feelings of achievement and success when you break a PR, look back at the journey, etc.
To throw this in, i do not think exercise is a social activity. I ve been doing this 17 years and the engagement of others while planning / being successful in exercising never mixed for me on a long term basis.
IF YOU DONT SQUAT, YOU AINT SQUAT
