Akshually it's made of barbecue spare ribs. The cheese is melted and used as a dipping sauce.

HEY!

Furthermore not only would I eat it but I'd polish it off with a tall cool Budweiser!

Would you eat the moon if it was made of spare ribs? It's a simple question.

Has our rocket tech not progressed one bit in 5 decades? Did America really have tech 5 decades ahead of other 1st world countries who keep failing with rovers and satelites?

We're being lied to.
The reality is that it our rocket tech hasn't really progressed at all. Sure our math and calculations have increased, and materials have changed but from a basic standpoint our rocket technology is largely the same. It's the same propulsion, same trajectorys, same speed, same this and same that. It's not a matter of rockets or math to get to the moon, it's money. It would cost roughly $30 Billion to send astronauts back to the moon, and likely that number is probably much much higher. There's also no reason to go back to the moon either, as I had mentioned before. We wouldn't learn anything new and it would purely be an ego boost just to go back. We went to the moon using slide rulers and 3 significant digits, which is a joke honestly.

The only real thing you could really do on the Moon is set up a basecamp similar to the ISS. However, it would be incredibly difficult to do so because you'd have to build a base in place and be able to constantly supply it with food and supplies, and again it would be for what? The ISS is hard enough as it is, and then to have to go to the Moon where a single failed landing would likely cause the death of all astronauts on the moon from starvation, let alone all the potential pathogens living on the moon, and yes, potentially aliens. It's just way too much money and risk for something that's not really worth it. We've sent more missions back to the Moon, and no one else has landed a man on the moon so who really cares anymore. The next big mission would honestly be "First Woman on the Moon".

One of my favorite stories, and something you'll learn in every engineering course, is when the US crashed a $100 Million+ Probe on Mars when they fukked up the units. Essentially one lab used English, and the other used Metric. They fukked up by never putting units on their calculations and they both thought they were using the same units. It resulted in the crashing and burning of the probe in Mars' orbit. So even though we know all this chit, there's still inherent dangers associated with space travel. Throw in the Colombia and Challenger disasters, and there's a lot of bad press about it. When you succeed it's like great, but when you fukk up, it's really really bad.

So why are we trying to go back by 2024 if nothing is there? Are the trace amounts of water there, nothing? Why are there so many other nations pursuing nothing?

Appreciate the actual response, btw.

The moon can be base camp for missions to mars. From what I remember, its easier to launch from it towards Mars.

Brb USA sending man to moon one of the greatest achievements ever ....brb lets record over the footage and "destroy" the technology that got us there.

YOU FUKKIN WHAT MATE

Also the technology we got now is about 1000 times better than what we had before yet no country bothers to go there.

The reason we haven’t been back is probably simple economics and cost / benefit.

The cost to send manned spacecraft to the moon compared to controlled rover is surely the driving factor.

Why spend the money to do manned landings (and surely MUCH more risk to the astronauts) when we already have done it, and with lunar rovers we can not only collect more data but better data as well?

The moon landing was a grandiose dink measuring contest to see if the first person on the moon would be a cosmonaut or an astronaut. Once that was settled, from a scientific and strategic standpoint, there was no need to spend the money / risk the assets on sending relatively fragile humans to the moon instead of lunar rovers.

Pro moon landing people are the same type who align themselves with Democrats because society tells them that's what smart people do, so if they do it then people will think they're educated too. (Not saying anything about Republicans being superior here, just pointing out a fact). They're typically the type to virtue signal, wear masks because "I trust the scientists". Reddit is full of these types, and it makes for a never ending pseudo-intellectual circle jerk.

Saturn Vs are ****ing insane. The cost from build to launch is ridiculous.

I've always thought how silly it was that the "moon rocks" they brought back were discovered to be nothing more than petrified wood. It's so much easier to fool people than to convince them that they've been fooled.

Lol @ brainlet idiots here using gov't generated propaganda to prove we went to the moon... during the height of the Cold War with tech less advanced than a TI-32 calculator

Brb fake moon rocks given to other countries as gifts
Brb easier to fake it than to actually go there
Brb never gone further than 600 miles past Earth's surface since

If you have an outlandish claim it requires outlandish evidence. The fact that the evidence has been destroyed sort of puts the issue to bed for me.

If they had to fake/recreate some of the footage why wouldn't they fake all of the footage and the whole thing?

^above is my unscientific opinion, I am truly open to the possibility of it being real but in the face of evidence I have seen thus far I'm still not convinced.

This kind of stuff is just so bizarre.

As I mentioned previously, we have documents from the 1700s, we have huge FBI transcripts of wiretapping and spying on celebrities, but people just casually erased moon landing footage?

They just left tapes around and people accidentally used them for other things?

I am reminded of the lame childish lies the media promotes about corona, and they forget about them, changes the story, etc. It has the same childish type of "BRB" sound to it.

The irony here is you yourself are being fooled by a known sham- jumping onto this debunked "petrified wood" non-point, while ignoring the vast evidence out there with whatever bias you are bringing to the table.

The moon rocks are really weird to me.

People who have seen them said they appeared to be rocks placed in some kind of kiln to change the overall appearance.

Then, as a mentioned in a previous post, it turns out "moon rocks" are "Earth rocks" and that changed the whole theory of ONLY how our moon was formed. Before it was all planets/moons were condensed matter trapped by the sun. Then, it was that Earth was fully formed, something crashed into it, turned it into molten blob, then the moon broke off, then Earth went right back to being normal again after it cooled down.

However, all other moons in the solar system have the old model explanation.

That sounds like some bullsh!t!

When you think about it, going to the Moon back in the 50's and 60's was considered to be the next big thing. You had countries cutting corners and putting all of their money into their moon landing operations. I think at the time we reached the Moon, 5% of our nations budget was being used for it. But once the US got to the Moon, everyone else was defeated, and then the Vietnam War hit, and then pandemics hit, and then the social interest in going back to the Moon largely fated. For example right now, why would anyone want to spend tens of billions of dollars going to the moon when people are dying of COVID? Why not use the money elsewhere when there's other chit going on?

Then interest only starts to pick up once other people start to take an interest too. This applies to everyday life in everything we do. No one gives a chit about the new thing until one popular person promotes it, and then suddenly everyone else is like fukk I need that. So when one country is established but has no "big" endeavour, they say fukk it, we'll drop a new rover or satellite onto the Moon. Then other countries are like chit then we need to go to the Moon first to make it seem like we're way better than them, and then suddenly you have loads of countries in the mix starting to do all this crap for new reason other than to again, flop their dicks around. I could see the next big thing again being "First Woman on the Moon", or first black, minority, LGBTQ, etc. on the Moon, nothing more than a gimmick honestly and just to have bragging rights.

BUT something similar could be used that we use everyday. No one developed nuclear weapons until word got out that they were being worked on. No one started exploring the oceans until someone started. No one traveled to the South Pole until someone started, etc. So the only real thing you could do on the Moon anymore is to establish a lunar colony. So when nations start taking an interest to probe the Moon, most people assume it's to send the first woman or to set up grounds for a space colony. Then all the major superpowers start throwing out money to start more missions to get the latest data (unchanged really) and give the illusion to everyone else that they have a stake in the game. NASA's budget has been decimated, as has other super powers space programs, but I bet they already researched and designed a livable habitat for the moon, now all that's left is for someone to say they plan to go, and suddenly all the major superpowers will dust off their plans, throw money into the budget, and race to be the first.

Funny how I know the moon landing happened, wear and understand the importance of masks, and am a Republican.

Moon landing deniers are the same type of people that say Earth is flat.
Brother, you don't KNOW anything for certain. Neither do I.

Idiots are the type of people who say the Earth is flat. People who question the overwhelming amount of evidence against the moon landing are just inquisitive and trying to understand how so many discrepancies can't be explained.

All conspiracies are not equal, you know that.

Landing deniers could be given legitimate proof that it was real and they'd still deny it.

You have to step back a second.

Firstly, NASA said it lost the plans to how the rockets work.

As I have mentioned before, the US has extensive records on what Elvis was doing, lol, but it had no one copying and saving files for ROCKET PLANS? I mean the CIA and everyone would have been all over this stuff and everyone who worked in the project. They aren't going to lose anything.

Also, it is JUST A ROCKET and there's no science fiction hyperdrive or anything in it. There are only so many ways something like that is going to work, due to the limitations of science. So, the US spent a lot of money making it, but that was due to the companies making it. It didn't need "Tritanium" to work, because it was just a rocket.

In addition, there would only be so many ways to navigated and so forth.

All of that means it should not have been a mystery then how it worked and it certainly shouldn't be now.

There was no way that NASA, while basically going to another planet, lost stuff, erased tapes, accidently threw out major plans for the whole project, and so forth. It's absurd and it say that someone is lying about the topic.

There's a video somewhere of the original broadcast before they land where Neil Armstrong talks about seeing structures on the Moon.

Pretty sure the Nazis had a base on the dark side in the 30s, documented in a movie called Iron Sky.

We're just having a conversation here, no need to get angry. I'm not trying to bring any more "bias" to the table than you are.

The "moon rock" material is of earth origin. That's not been "debunked", it's the truth. That's a pretty big point, it's very important. To say otherwise is silly.

I've done plenty of research on this, otherwise I wouldn't bother spending my time on this thread and discussing it if I hadn't. I don't claim to know it all, I'm here with an open mind and open ears. I want to be proved wrong so I can be one step closer to knowing what's true.

With that said, so far I haven't seen anyone post anything to debunk any of the discrepancies, just people calling others names and claiming they're ill informed while not providing any reasonable counter evidence.
