I was on a car forum years ago and the offtopic section used to be awesome and then got terrible after over-moderating and weirdo losers. One of the guys made a new forum that was basically for like 100 of us to do and talk about whatever. You had to get an invite and be approved before your account could be created. Was awesome.

Funny story: I was well known on the original forum and friends with many in there and many people called me by my first name. Some loser that liked my GF at the time and was in a college class with her asked her a bunch of questions about me. Dude was basically a 2020 Miscer type. Anyway she mentions I spend a lot of time working on my car and on that car forum. Dude becomes a member of the forum and some-fcking-how works his way onto our secret forum of bros. Starts taking screenshots of things I was posting and pics sharing on the forum and awares her.
A little drama popped off, but end of the day she realized how creepy and desperate he was, blew me that very night, and switched to another class away from him. Turned out I was a moderator on the new bro forum and banned him and then had him banned from the main forum for being a weirdo creeper.

TLDR - the internet can be a small world

Yes, but I notice it’s extremely hard to get traction. Plan now is to get to like 40-50 miscers. Watch it unfold for couple days. Purge. Good miscers left over and then invite only

Edit: also is going pretty good so far

-Do you have friends IRL (actual friends not guys asking you for money that they will never return)- for sure i have 4 really good friends and around 15 close friends

So it seems like you have to insert your phone number. And if you use your MISC username, everyone in your contact list who also have ********, will be notified that you joined it, with your MISC username.

Not really too keen on this. Did you all just use a completely different username or do you not give a ****?

What I and and a bunch of people are doing is just signing up with our first name. Kinda makes it a bit tricky knowing who's who but meh.

I completely see where you're coming from. I decided to only check the misc when i'm taking a dump.
The misc has become so chitty lately, same threads, same alts, same bs, same incels, same negativity.
I never took the misc srs so i didn't mind the bs here and there. But now it's like 97% whining about life.
It's just not worth spending a lot of time on anymore.

If someone else stills enjoys the misc, by all means post as much as you like.
But for me, the fun is gone. I think all normal people left.

That said, i don't want to be invited in the whatsapp group if eligible.
Because i've been in group chats before in college, and i went absolutely nuts with my phone going off nonstop.
A discord is better. Especially a ''moderated'' one. If some ******* keeps crying how he can't get laid or the same negativity as on the misc, kick them out.
