0 ☹ Bench was my weakest lift. Come to think of it so was every other lift!

I know how 1RM calculators work. 20 is a lot of reps. Being off by a couple reps on one set means nothing lol. Also, that 446 isn't recent, it's just my PR. I'm also 15 lbs lighter now.

"Way too big to take seriously" just shows how low your bar is set. Of course they're not impossible. In the powerlifting world, they're very mediocre.
Bullchit.

A 450lb only seems like a mediocre bench because the only videos of powerlifting that are shared, are those of the elite. So, your statement should be rephrased "among elite lifters a 450lb bench is mediocre". And that I agree with

I mean, I know more than a few guys personally in my small city who can bench more than 450 lbs.

Maybe I just always had my sights set on bigger sh!t. I don't find my bench at my bodyweight to be that impressive. Not sure what to tell you.

ive been competing in power lifting for years honestly don’t see it going up unless I go up in weight class to uspa 114 weight class

Adding more reps at lower weights has been the goal lately

More reps is still progress, though. If things are getting stagnant, don't be afraid to toss in some new variations or exercises to really hammer your weak points.

At one point, I was benching 4x/week every week. I'm back down to twice now.

I know where you are coming from. When I started lifting, I thought a 2 plate bench was amazing, and I would finally be strong when I got it.

Then I got a 2 plate bench, and the goalposts shifted. A 2 plate bench is weak, 275 is where its at

Then I got that, and 315 is what really separates the men from the boys.

Then after I got 315, I thought 315 is weak and only 405 is a respectable bench

You're strong as fuk but just can't see it

And I don't think you will ever think you are strong. If you got a 550 bench I guarantee you would be calling that mediocre just because someone can do 770

I'm honestly fine with it like that. I mean, I can see where I stand against other competitors. That's the only population I ever compared myself to.

As soon as you start thinking you've made it and your numbers are good, you're prone to losing that drive and hunger for more. Don't sit back and admire your work, keep doing what got you to the dance and find ways to get even better.

Do it, playa. I did that 265 press the day after a big bench workout.

I sometimes want to make a another run for a 300 press, but it's too annoying to prioritize. I like deadlifting twice every week and don't want to put bench on the back burner, so building a bigger press kind of goes by the wayside. It's really taxing on my lower back and makes it hard to deadlift to level I want. Still love doing seated BTN press, though.

Pressing more than 1xBW is pretty damn strong.

Your bench is your least impressive lift, cause every ******* in the world that goes to the gym does bench.

But for reference, according to PLW to be in the top 50 IN THE WORLD at your weight class, you need a 705 squat. So you are probably top 60-70 in the world for squat in your weight class. For deadlift and bench, you are probably top 200 if I had to guess.

Idk if you have some sort of strength dysmorphia, or live in another universe where everyone is a giga-chad in the gym, but your numbers are borderline elite even in the PL'ing world. You probably would take the state record for total in a majority of states in the US.

Open Powerlifting is the spot to check now.https://www.openpowerlifting.org

No strength dysmorphia present lol. I just have a very good idea of where I stood amongst my peers when I competed, that's all.

Like I said above, maybe that mindset was what kept me hungry and driving towards constant improvement back then.

Ive never tried to rep out @ 275 but I do feel like I'm way closer to 17 @ 275 than I am to 1 @ 446
I haven't even ever tried a 225 rep out even tho my gym will record and add anyone to a whiteboard if and when they attempt it
You have piqued my curiosity OP

I've noticed my bench has actually improved as I've gotten older where my squat and dead have began to flatline in the recent years

It's definitely the one that taxes your body the least, is easiest to heap volume on, and is easier to recover from.

It was about 3 years ago, but I think I stopped at 275x12. I can't remember if it was because that's all I had or I just wanted to stop there to avoid higher reps. I do know that my best weight and reps was 315x7. Clean form, good tempo. I'm not sure how this weight calculator that you guys are talking about works, but I do remember that clearly.

I can hit roughly -1. When I was at my strongest I don't think I could even do 1, but I was on my way. How the hell are you guys repping this chit? I was very strict with diet and workouts for a long period, but I feel the gains were coming very hard.

295 scheduled for next week. Don't like my chances because I have to work three 12 hour shifts in a row leading up to bench day.

Got it for 14 last training cycle.

Program says at least 8 reps, so that's safe.
PRs:

Squat: 672 lbs
Bench Press: 446 lbs
Deadlift: 696 lbs
Press: 265 lbs
