And their is always a list of people about to or recovering from some type of surgery. Think we have like 5-6 guys out right now.

But some people also make it through with smart taps and game plans, not pushing themselves when injured and making it worse etc..

And you will never have to deal with blows to the head. If you box into your 60s sparring hard you will be a legit vegetable. With bjj you just get a hip replacement and a surgery or two!
How old are you? Sounds like you're well on your way to making a lot of noise when getting out of a chair...lol

What's hilarious about this thread is most of the people posting have never stepped foot into an MMA gym.

I’m in my mid-thirties now. I don’t recover like I used to. One of the biggest things for me to have learned from jiujitsu is patience, and humility.

When younger, I’d try to push through an injury, because I didn’t want to appear weak, and wanted to look strong and tough. Now, I don’t care. My teammates or coach aren’t going to live in my body and deal with chronic arthritis, or need a knee or hip replaced, that would be me that would need to deal with that. So if that means, I need to take a week or two off to recover from a mild injury, or if I need to flow roll or just drill instead of rolling, that’s what I’m going to do. I’m not going to the mundials and I want to be able to keep training into my 70’s and 80’s (or longer!). So that means being smart, being patient to recover from injuries, lowering my ego to not want to go 100% all the time.

I’ve had to take the last week off from both lifting, bjj, and running. It sucks, and I feel like a lazy piece of **** for not working out, but I’d rather be out for 1-2 weeks than 8 months with something serious.

The second these BJJ guys realize you are superior in strikingthey don't waste time & take you down to basically rape you
It is guys like you who put me off BJJ when you let out a little "HNNNNG" as you get choked out. You could never tell who was there to learn BJJ or who was there to add another memory to the fap bank.

There are only so many times you can convince yourself that the boner you just felt touching your leg is only in your imagination.

BJJ and wrestling are great systems, but are also completely gay.

Judo is where it is at if you want to feel like you are kicking ass rather than being raped or the one doing the raping.

BJJ is necessary. And so is striking.

Bjj is awesome. I like Judo the most, but bjj is amazing imo. I wish I had taken wrestling back in high-school instead of just football and track.

Beyond that is diminishing returns. the more you roll, the worse you become as a fighter. it's pure autism at that point.
Agreed. BJJ is autism
