I live this actually. I could easily go somewhere else right now and make 25 to 30% more than my current salary...however i like my job, the people i work with, and the environment. Work/life balance is huge. I have cars and chit that i never thought i would own and while they are nice/fun, etc. they don't mean chit without family and friends. I would gladly trade money for the time i didn't spend with loved ones that are no longer here. The *******s i see on social media flexing about money are the ones i feel badly for. They are peacocking because they have no other way to get validation in their meaningless lives. I would rather drive an 8 year old car and get paid a little less than work 70 hours a week and give up making a life, having a family, etc. Kids/Wives are the GOAT. Younger miscers who detest these things will live to regret them in 10 to 15 years when they are older, fatter, and left with less than desireable prospects.

Wouldn't say money can't bring more happiness if one uses it for the right reasons and manages it in a constructive manner, but chasing money and the clout associated with it is a big reason why society is so dystopian these days

99% of my stressors and things that make me unhappy would be remedied if I had enough money to maintain my current life without having to continue working.
So in a way, money does buy (at least some) happiness. Practically everything else in my life I don't stress about. Not having to work (do stuff I don't want to do in order to maintain my life) while taking time away from doing things that I would prefer doing, or passions I would prefer to pursue with that time does make me less happy. If 100% of my day was exclusively deciding what I wanted to do, because I didn't have to worry about working to pay bills, fund trips, etc. I would be infinitely more happy.
So in a way, money does buy (at least some) happiness. Practically everything else in my life I don't stress about. Not having to work (do stuff I don't want to do in order to maintain my life) while taking time away from doing things that I would prefer doing, or passions I would prefer to pursue with that time does make me less happy. If 100% of my day was exclusively deciding what I wanted to do, because I didn't have to worry about working to pay bills, fund trips, etc. I would be infinitely more happy.

For those asking, I am actually happy to work, as in I am a generally happy person and feel lucky.
The way that I achieved this was through a spiritual awakening and further development.
I don't really think about any one else or care really - like if you were starving I'd help you, but I don't see how my care towards a person or group would change certain internal issues that lead to a feelings of unfulfillment in life.
I do plan to create something of my own one day, but that's for my self and my own enjoyment.
I am now of the opinion that nobody can fix the world, except the individual, by focusing on hiss or her own internal issues and living their best life.
Like I used to be a hateful dumbass sh*t out of boredom and trying to prove my self, got retarded, lost all friends, spent 3-4 years on my own now, and without this, I would have never learned how to life and be happy.
Looking back on it I had everybody to blame for my issues like my dad, my school friends, my life situation, etc, and it wasn't until I stopped doing that stuff completely that my life changed.

I'd like to see you say that when you get sick and can't work so can't afford to get treatment. Or if you had no money to pay for shelter/food. Money ABSOLUTELY buys happiness and it's beyond stupid to think otherwise.
