Maybe you like having no control over your own household but it's not very manly to be that way. You should not be afraid to suggest something in your own house, man or woman. I was referring to the "hang a picture just to challenge her authority" comment.

If you like decorating and that's a non-starter for you, and you find a woman who also likes decorating and that's a non-starter for her, and there's no negotiating the issue... then maybe it's time to move on from that partner srs. Because if you can't agree on decorating, then you're certain to hit very serious roadblocks over raising children, religion, etc.

But if you're just trying to stick it to her, then maybe find a more productive way to spend your time.

She dictates 100% of the decorating besides one room really: my gym.

I have a hard time fathoming grown men wanting to decorate a house... but I guess if that's what you like to do, do you.
