I’m looking to buy a couple sets of corded clippers...one to learn how to give my kids a decent haircut, and the other for trimming my body hair.
For my purposes, can I assume that I can’t go wrong by picking anything that’s at least ~$80 from Andis or Wahl?
I don’t want to buy garbage, but I also can’t justify spending $150+ on each set of clippers.

I’m in the market for a new beard trimmer, seriously looking for quality. I currently have a basic philips norelco series 5000 beard trimmer. I have to pass over facial hair multiple times to trim. Not sure if blades are too dull or blades are to far apart / less teeth. Additionally it has 12 height adjustments but sometimes I want to keep my facial hair the same length and just trim off the random stranglers/longer hairs. So maximum height adjustment is still too short.
Honestly, not looking to spend more than $200 and preferably lasts 5+ years (I have OCD about care/maintenance with chit I own).
Any recommendations, with a multitude of adjustments and preferably it doesn’t take 3-4 or more passes to trim stranglers. Unless I just suck at trimming, that’s possible too.

Double Edge Safety Razor crew: 2 passes, with the grain and against the grain and I get baby butt smooth. If you're face gets irritated. One pass with the grain and touch up.
Italianbarber.com
Razor: RazoRock .84 game changer. $62 including shipping. If you are worried about cutting yourself, get the .68 Game Changer. Less blade exposure. You won't cut yourself with it.
The rest below can be found on Amazon
Blades: Voskhod 100 on Amazon 9.99 Will last 6 shaves. 2 years worth of blades, these are just right. Not too sharp like Feather. If you are new, you have NO RIGHT using a Feather. It will be a blood bath. Astra is owned by PG, phuck them.
Brush: Parker Badger Hair $33 on Amazon. You can get a synthetic for $15
Shave Cream: Proraso Tube green (menthol), red (sandalwood) $10 a lima bean amount will give you a ton of lather if you stir it with your brush in a small mug or coffee cup for 45 seconds.
Alum Block: Gentleman Jon rub on wet face after shaving. Stops cuts from bleeding and tightens pores
Aftershave balm: Duke Cannon Ice Cold.
Cologne: Whatever Ph ag sauce that floats your boat.
Razor will last a lifetime
Blades 2 years.
I like the cooling of the menthol.

Cremo has a new 5-blade that looks interesting.
I've been debating about getting a Proshield as well.
I only use cartridge shaving for when I grow out my mustache in the fall.
I have 3 safety razors and a Phillips Norelco electric razor.

Edit-just by online. You can get good value sets cheap from places like Italian Barber or Maggards. On Amazon Feather Popular razor can be had on Amazon for $20 (used to be $15), any plissoft type of synthetic brush is far better than a cheap badger. Voskhod blades. $10 for a hundred, best overall blade IMO for new and seasoned shavers. Causes me the least irritation personally. Astra blades always do something weird to my skin, and Amazon reviews mention fakes so I avoid em for blades.
Virtue is its own reward.
