One classmate I've known since elementary was killed several years after HS. Always knew him as a class clown. Tall guy, fairly popular. Apparently got involved with selling drugs and was killed. Left a kid behind.

Another was a sister of a friend from HS. Wrong place, wrong time. Was found shot in a car with her bf who was involved in shady ****. The car was set on fire after they were killed.

One or two former classmates were killed, but don't recall the details.

Non murder deaths my 8th grade teacher committing suicide the following year, an ex friend (drifted apart in adolescence) who hung himself a year after graduation, and a few car accidents.

My friend from HS, his sister was murdered in her apartment by the downstairs neighbor who then set the place on fire and fled. They caught him eventually in another state, hope he got the death penalty. It was some incel looking dude, she was supposed to be married like a month or two later as well...

Kid I sat next to in Plumbing college for a year and gave the answers in exams a year after I left he got shot in the eye over a girl by a love rival and his dad. This was in London as well so very especially shocking.

I was young, so they kept me away from all of it. I’ve mostly just heard the story over the years.

My dad, on the other hand found them. There was a big window on the front porch that you could actually look through and see my grandpa laying on the couch. My dad never thought to go over and look in the window the first time he went to the house and knocked on the door.

He went back after it was all over, and repainted the living room. My dad was a tough old bird.

A kid with two siblings who both OD'ed within a year of each other.
Another kid who had two of HIS sibling OD, as well.
A kid who died in a car wreck.
A kid who died after being hit by a car.
Another kid who OD'ed.
A kid who died (never found out why that one died, he had cleaned his act up and gotten married).
Three kids I know commit suicide.
A kid who OD'ed while his current GF was in the same house, a floor up, blowing someone for smack.
My cousin had a friend who was involved in a drug deal gone wrong, shot the dealer, he got jail for life.
Kid I used to work with died in his 20s, but he was never supposed to make it to adulthood, had some weird heart condition.
Friend died from spinal meningitis like, 10 years ago.
This couple I know was train-hopping. Girl jumps into traincar first, it has no bottom, she falls under and is killed under the train. Boyfriend survived, in horror.

That's what I can think of off-hand. Definitely know way more young deaths than this, too, sadly. Opiate epidemic in my area is out of control.

A friends cousin got shot in he head point black, he was a low lever drug dealer. I'm talking lowest of the low as far a drug dealer goes, he mostly sold a bit of weed here an there. That was enough to get killed by the cartels tho.

I saw a drug related drive by too once, I was standing on the street and right infront of me there was a small bakery, they closed early and the workers used to sit in the side walk and have a beer after closing. I was standing there minding my own business and a bike with two kids (literal kids as in they looked no older than 16) stops infront of them and one of them starts blasting at them with a handgun, he empited his magazine right infront of them. 6 guys or so got shot, 5 of them survived. They weren't even targeting the bakers but they were going after a guy that was drinking with them who used to live in the rooms above the bakery. Supposedly that guy hit a drug dealer in the face on a drunken night out and wasnt aware of who he was hitting. Said guy got shot like 6 times and I watched him scream, stumble, fall on the street and choke in his own blood right in front of me. Five minutes or so after the shooting the police and military came in, they did absolutely nothing in terms of first aid or anything to the guy who was dying, they gave no fuks and just left him to die, the ambulance came shortly after and took him away but I'm sure he was dead by the time they picked him up.
The bakers got a shot or two each, they gut lucky and got shot in the legs, arms or feet, only one of them got hit in the chest near the shoulder but they all survived, they almost died just for having a beer with the wrong guy at the wrong time. It was brutal to watch the guy who died choke on his own blood, made me realize how vital is to know some critical first aid, I wanted to help but i had no fkn idea what to do in that situtation. His pool of blood stayed in the street for a couple days until the bakers scrubed it down. This all happened around 6pm in a summer day too.

Not exactly murder, but should have been manslaughter.

Researched it a little more now that this thread was made, dude was sentenced to 40-50 years in prison. No motive in the news articles, but I'm sure it was jealousy and anger that he couldn't have her so he ****ing killed her.. she had blunt force traumas, burns from the fire, and her mouth was taped shut. god dammit... dude should be hanged or made to stand in front of a firing squad just as others who commit the same sort of acts.

When I was in the 1st or 2nd grade there was a mom of one of the girls in my class that would volunteer for every school event. I was friends with her daughter and she drove me for multiple field trips. Her and her husband volunteered at events like the class Halloween party. She ended up shooting her husband in the back of the head with the help of her new boyfriend.

They pretended he was missing for months but eventually the boyfriend got drunk at a bar and started talking about it. Both were arrested and the daughter ended up very damaged.

Two people. Both murdered in front of me years apart. Messed up my noggin real good. The first was when I was a toddler, the second I as 16. There could be others, but it was hard enough for me to remember those two. I don't want to remember others. I hope that's it. Besides that there's been waterboarding attacks (a lot more common for me than murders), rapes, break ins, stalking, getting filmed against my will, other stuff I call "minor" like dealing with a bull charging at me (or more recently warding off an ox with a goddamn piece of wire I found on the floor) , car accidents, bomb scares/death threats. Bad luck I guess. Poverty.
Ridicule is one indicator that things will begin to get violent. There are other signs. It seems like I spend my life tensed for the next attack. I tell myself it's good. I'm fine, it's safe. But safety is like God. we tell our children about it with hope and not much evidence.

I had moved to another state. A good friend of mine called me to let me know that my best friend had been murdered in a gas station robbery. That was 44 years ago

Never met him, but my great grandfather was murdered in a random shooting.

Remembered one other. Had a female boss at a bank that I worked at a long time ago. Was married and had one kid, basically worked herself up and bought a house for the first time when her kid was around 8. Apparently her husband was the possessive type and had other related abusive issues. As I understand after, guess she had just told him she wanted a divorce and that didn't sit well with the husband. He ended up beating her to death and tried to burn down the house and fled...all with the daughter sleeping upstairs. Luckily the daughter made it out unscathed but she pretty much lost both parents at once.

My ex's son was shot and killed on November 19th. Someone knocked on his door and shot him while his gf went to the store.
