Sky diving is cool, I want to try it, but I choose motorcycles over sky diving. Much more Convenient , much less hassle. Sky diving also ends too quick.

With your strange fear of motorcycles I have a hard time believing you go skydiving. Its almost like your mom told you how bad and dangerous motorcycles are so now you have a strange vendetta against them.



I know a few older guys that have been riding bikes for 40-50 years with no issues. Even know a few guys in their 70s and 80s that ride the three wheel MC's now. There are literally millions of of riders that have a good time without issue. Its a really small percent of riders that get killed/crippled and its almost always their fault.



Anyone who's a first responder knows people get killed/crippled in car crashes far more often and most motorcycle crashes are relatively minor with just a few bumps and bruises. If people are scared to ride that's fine. But I see so much cope like "I'd be so crazy I'd crash and kill myself." or "So many riders end up dead/paralyzed I don't want to ride." Etc.

It's hard to get financing and insurance on motorcycles though so not many kids on R1s.

I don't know if an agent would even issue a policy for a 16yo on an R1. Could just insure in dad's name and let the kid ride it but not many parents are that irresponsible. If the kid kills himself or a passenger dad will lose his house and life saving in court.

Honestly unless you're trying to be one of those sportbike riders pushing it to the max and trying to speed around everywhere, a good helmet, jacket, gloves, and boots is about all you need. Full leathers is just the boy racer special, totally unnecessary and undesirable if you're just riding around.

It's a lot easier to learn on a 600. They have a decent top speed but they aren't very powerful at low rpms. You have to really stay up close to the redline to get power out of the smaller bikes.

They are light, have excellent suspension and brakes, top of the line electronics to keep the bike stable. I'd trust a kid to learn on a 600 race replica much more than I would some crappy harley.

Even though the harley is a lot slower the instant torque makes them tricky to launch, there is no traction control or anti lock brakes or rider modes to be had, and the brakes and suspension are awful.

My V-rod was a lot slower than my zx-14 and my hayabusa, but much harder to ride. It wouldn't stand up, but would spin the tire through the first 3 gears and you couldn't even feel it break traction. It just wouldn't accelerate and if you did that in a turn it's easy to wipe out.

You won't with all the nanny sensors turned on. The bikes instantly cut power if there are differences in the wheel speed sensors. The modeen higher end bikes come with some pretty good software. Linked antilock brakes, wheelie and traction control, cruise control, selectable power modes, it's pretty amazing how safe these new bikes are compared to 10-15 years ago.

Problem with some of the cheaper lower power bikes is they don't get all the nice electronics that make riding simple.

I know a dude who legitimately takes pride in driving around on a scooter that resembles a mini crotch rocket that tops out at 60 mph. He even decked the thing out in about $1k+ of aftermarket add on bs after or originally buying it new for about $3k. He uses it to take the highway to work and everything, meaning he has to go 5mph under the posted speed limit on a road where a majority of people are going 70 - 75mph in cars/trucks. "It saves gas on Putin's gas price hike, lol", he says. Meanwhile, his other mode of transportation is a gas guzzling "power wagon" Dodge pickup truck with a stupid giant printed logo on the side of the paint job that gets about 2 miles a gallon on highways.
