By your logic it's not sentient until it comes out of the womb since it's technically still attached to the mother, which we know isn't true

Life biologically begins at conception
Synapses begin forming but by no means is a fetus the size of a jellybean thinking or having a conscious experience.

But there is no logical or scientific argument to be made that the fetus is in any way a living, sentient being at 2 months. It simply is not. The only argument you could make is a religious one that it has the potential to be living, but then like, good luck justifying pulling out, birth control, or anything
Blissful handled my response.

I also lol at anyone using the word sentient when describing whether or not it is worth killing. A person in a coma is considered not to be a sentient being. So we should be able to murder all people in comas because they aren't sentient, and not bear the repercussions of it being a murder.

You say you aren't an abortion supporter, but you are.

The wife said the husband dun fukked up and he knows what he did. Response from the husband to op makes it clear he knows he dun fukked up.

Wife made the right move.

"He fuked up and knows what he did" could mean a hundred things. Rather than cheating, to me the first thing that came to mind was she's not on or is inconsistent in taking birth control, so he kept dumping loads in her instead of pulling out like she expected him to.

And to be honest, if she was resolute about never having kids while knowing he badly wanted them I don't think if he cheated it was so bad. Especially if she made it seem like she wanted kids and did a 180 on him. If they're completely at odds about having kids the marriage is basically over.

Neither is someone in a coma. They aren't sentient. So should we just murder anyone in a coma as well and forfeit the feeling of guilt because they aren't consciously experience life, feelings, and thinking?

You say you aren't an abortion supporter, but you are.
A person in a coma was sentient before and has a whole history and lived experience and family who loves him. It's not about if you are having a conscious experience in the moment, it's about if you previously had one and are expected to keep having one once the coma is over.

An easier to understand analogy is sleeping. We sleep every night and are barely conscious at that moment but we were conscious just before sleeping and are expected to wake up fully conscious just after.

It's an easy distinction for me, not sure how you don't get it.

LOL at miscers that support babykilling. Always justifying that evil.

The true story needs to come out, we still don't know what happened or if she is lying (by implying and making a vague accusation), etc.

That was a quick abortion all told. Makes me wonder what other horrific choices she might make on the spur of the moment - like killing their toddler if he did something she didn't agre with.

If the mother got an abortion 4 days after the sperm joins with the egg are you guys considering that murder too?

Surely killing that clump of cells holds nowhere the same moral weight as killing a baby that's just been delivered in the hospital. I know you know deep down that there's a difference.

What about using electrical activity in the brain as a sign of life? We use the lack of such activity to determine death.

If the synapses are firing, providing readable activity then even if the heart is not beating, that person is clinically alive just as you & I

https://wisconsinrighttolife.org/fet...ment-timeline/

"Fertilization – the joining of the father’s sperm and the mother’s egg – this is when life begins. Fertilization can occur within minutes of intercourse or within two to three days afterwards. When fertilization occurs a new, unique human individual begins the journey of development-the fetal development timeline. At the earliest stage, the new person is referred to as a zygote and is no larger than a single grain of sand. Cell division begins mere moments after fertilization.

'At fertilization, every bit of genetic information necessary for the child’s development is present. The “program” for everything is there: hair and eye color, skin tone, height – even likely giftedness as a pianist, vocalist or computer programmer.'

A function called implantation happens from five to nine days after fertilization. Implantation occurs when the new human nestles him or herself in the wall of the uterus (or womb) and begins to draw nutrition. Once he/she has implanted, your baby is called a blastocyst and is about 0.1 – 0.2 mm in diameter.

This week your body will experience a hormone reaction to the presence of the developing baby. The result is that you stop menstruating. In other words, you miss your normal period.

Between weeks three and four (18 to 25 days after fertilization) the developing baby’s heart begins to beat. Arm and leg buds form. The face – eyes, ears, nose and mouth – begin to take form."

Is the OP talking about 4 days or two months? I can understand the morning after pill, I can understand abortion in certain circumstances within a certain time frame.

No matter how you look at it, without outside intervention, this would have been a healthy born baby in 7 months. She ended any chance of that life, not because of what the baby did, but because of what the father did. There is no justification for that. At the very least, she had 18 years of child support coming to her, and we all know that the courts stick it to the father with child support. Or there is adoption, plenty of couples want to adopt. She chose spite and death.
Freedom of speech is a principle pillar of a free government; when this support is taken away, the constitution of a free society is dissolved and tyranny is erected on its ruins.

All due respect, nothing here is new info to me. The question is what do we value. You value something once it becomes human life and logically that happens at conception. Totally see your point. I don't necessarily value human life, I value a conscious experience.

Meaning, someone is worthy of our moral consideration once they have obtained a conscious experience and are expected to continue having one.

So yeah, that's where we will always disagree.

Also, "he knows what he did". Thats complete bull****, women are only ambiguous when it suits their narrative or needs. If the guy had cheated she would have said so, if the guy had hit her she would have say so. Women dont miss a chance to play the victim role

For all we know she's fuking a Chad or likes a Chad from her job, and OPs friend liked some girl's picture on instagram and thats "what he did".

Yeah I guess this is an "agree to disagree" point because I think consciousness itself is a tricky concept to define or explain and then apply to status of life. But I do understand your point of view.

This is a very important aspect of the story and we really do need more on this part. Just taking her word for it and then creating possible scenarios based on her word and then making those possible scenarios fact is not the best approach.

You think that up to 8.5 months into it? Maybe early weeks but just because it's not out the body that late you can't say it's not a baby lol.

I've known him a long time, we've been through some serious chit together. I know you never really know but I would not think he would cheat on her. Especially now that she was pregnant, they've been trying since they got married two years ago. They went to doctors and chit. I might be totally wrong, will update when I find out.
What if it turns out the baby was never his?
