Why was Volk so committed to grappling in the 5th? Was he looking for a moral victory? Did he think he was up? Islam was gassed, he should’ve got space and blasted him. Volk barely looks like he broke a sweat. Insane conditioning.

I understand that on this point system islam won, but he spent the last 2 full rounds just holding on to volk. The first 3 were all close. The fight as a whole i think there's a strong argument volk won.

Both fighters showed massive heart. Islam's striking was IMPRESSIVE as hell. Volk was incredible, showed great heart.

I think Islam won the standing very slightly

Volk didn't win the fight as a whole for sure but the 5th round looked very bad for Islam as he get knocked down and was clearly gassed so there's a moral victory there I think. if there was a 6th round this might have turned into something different

Im no fan of Volk, (that has changed after tonight) but what an absolute bullchit decision.

Volk would run through the lightweight division 100% the only guy who woule give him issues is Olivera.

That was a hell of a good fight.
