Nah. Warning labels are fine because it is a sold product. Also, the warnings aren't forced by the govt. They are there at the company's direction to avoid liability. It is the government's job to regulate and make sure people aren't selling bleach as a kids' drink and murdering them though. That's the point.

Like the whole vape thing. Some of those are clearly made to be attractive to kids, and that is fuked up.

Warning labels area mandated by the government.

Ok well it isn't in the govt's interest to let retarded people accidentally kill themselves doing stupid chit. It's the same reason we inspect beef and require products to have a certain quality. Consumer protection is a thing. If you want to live in an unregulated dystopian paradise where kids are free to kill themselves with products, move to ****lia or something.

None of this is about warning labels. This discussion is about giving the govt the power to censor what it thinks is disinformation.

I don’t know about that. I’m a big fan of knowing what’s in the product I’m buying.

It's ok for Twitter to put a label fact checking what it thinks is bs. It's not ok for Twitter to shadowban or derank stuff because the govt asked them to. There's a pretty simple line here. I'm ok with it saying "THIS MIGHT BE RUSSIAN PROPAGANDA BRO". It's like how youtube labels CGTN and other news as partially funded by x government. That's fine. But don't hide it. Providing supplementary info is ok. Removing info is not.

I respect that and can't really argue against it but feel like it's a "be careful what you ask for" situation that given our realities could likely be overall worse than what we have now.

I don't have to, I get a fair amount of stuff from unregulated markets. Buy meat and dairy straight from farms and there have been times we have used the barter system.

Right and there is a HUGE portion of the cosumer base that would agree with you and if large enough, companies will do it on their own.

The govt shouldn't have an interest in keeping ppl alive? LMFAO ROPE.

Hey good for you. The govt caters to more than just you, asshoel. Imagine if chemical companies didn't have to label their chit with MSDS. Do you even think ****0t?

I'm saying the labels are a good thing. Stop fuking whining about it. Jesus Christ.

No why is it the governments responsibility to keep people alive other than it's own self interest? That's the only reason they care.

You know chemical companies pushed for the MSDS, right? They wanted it and wanted it standardized but were doing it before it was mandated.

I find it a relevant comparison.

Warning labels = power to censor (marketing) disinformation or control the absence of accurate information.

Hey you know what's cool? We already had this experiment. A bunch of people died and that is why consumer safety laws were passed. Glad we cleared that up. Now fuk off.

Nah. Warning labels simply supply new info. See my point. Twitter should label stuff with fact checked info if they want. They should not derank or hide anything at the behest of the govt. There is a difference.

Like they could put a thing next to Alex Jones saying warning this guy is a dumbass who has been sued for bullchitting and he's wrong because blah blah.

we've had this experiment more than once because comsumer safety laws fall under a lot of different departments and haven't been added at different times.

As such - don't have to give the amounts of ingredients in supplements.

Some helped save lives, sure. Doesn't mean it isn't government overreach

Sure and if u have a specific issue with a specific requirement make a different thread and bitch. To target all warning labels indiscriminately is frankly insane. People would be burning down their houses left and right.

I need it to protect retards like you from killing your kid. If it didn't warn you, you'd just carelessly let your kid die doing something stupid. Because you're uneducated.

Yea ok we don't do that. Again, we have consumer protection laws and most people aren't as retarded as you to think it's a good idea to remove them. Please make a different thread if you want to debate that.

WTF is jarts? some groomer bs? freak

Part of the reason child mortality is down compared to the 30's is all the safety laws. So again if you want that society, move to ****lia and enjoy your newfound freedom. Every developed nation has consumer protection laws and they aren't going anywhere.

I love how it went from warning labels are not government mandated to we have these laws for a reason and it is the best reason in the world in like ten posts.

no one is buying that either.

I mean christ in this thread you told me to rope because my opinion is different than yours.

Now I know what you'll say, that is not so bad because weaning people like me out of the population is a good thing - but that is all I am saying regarding protecting people from themselves.
