We do not need semi-auto rifles to be honest. Raise the prices, raise the age limit, make it more difficult to attain. And beef up security nationwide. Honestly if businesses cannot afford the cost of security measures at this point then they shouldn’t be in business. If we aren’t going to do anything about gun laws then a serious change in business law needs to be made where armed security is almost a necessity.

It’s astonishing that this keeps happening in our country and nothing is being done
It is absolutely not on private business to bear the cost of basic public safety. That's what government and law enforcement is for at its most fundamental level.

We need to do everything else you said to make the most deadly guns less accessible.

Its complete insanity to see this constantly happening and still republicans act like theres no options. Or worse, act like its perfectly acceptable and ok since muh lightning strikes.

We say the gun is not the problem it’s the person committing the mass murder.

Edit: I literally got done with an 8 hour shooting class yesterday and I’m sitting in a coffee shop with a Glock 19 AIWB. I’m a not threat to anyone because I’m not doped up on “anti depressants”. My gun cannot do anything to anyone without me.

But don't you think if their were less firearms and less people owned them these instances would be a lot less common?

I agree that there seems to be a mental health problem which is leading to these shootings but if firearms were more difficult to come by then surely cases like this would reduce?

Notably, most individuals who engaged in mass shootings used handguns (77.2%), and 25.1% used assault rifles in the commission of their crimes.

Do you think if we made sugar illegal there would be less fat people?

We could also make fast food illegal, because then there would be less fat people.

We could also outlaw bread, because then there would be less fat people.

Finally, we could just outlaw fat people and we would never have to worry about babies being smothered by fat people.

Because saving lives is what I'm all about.

At any cost.

Europe, Canada, and Australia have strict gun laws and for some reason don't have 5 year olds getting their brains blown off for going to the mall to buy Disney toys.

What could be their secret?!?!?

By the way, eating sugar/bread is a choice. Different than a nutjob buying an AR-15 and wasting 12 people in 3 minutes.

How did we go from "Black Lives Matter - destroy the country over pregnant woman-robbing George Floyd" to "gang related shootings do not matter?"

Reducing gun ownership would have no expected impact on homicide rates.

Freedom isnt free. One solution would be to stop investing in foreign affairs - hundreds of billions of dollars, and invest in local security initiatives.

There would be no problem with a constitution respecting police force that focuses on public safety.

Kind of like Mexico where you see tonnes of policia federal in high risk areas.

Every part of the world has crime. Add in the mental disease of liberalism, and a declining economy, and a federal reserve purposely destroying wealth.... prepare to see more turmoil.

If it wasn't an Ar, its simply be something else. Society is the problem, not an inert chuck of aluminum and steel.
Lol @ blaming a tool instead of the people committing the crime.

No I do not. Someone that deranged will find a way. Look at the black terrorist who ran over those children in Wisconsin.

Are drugs less common? What about illegal people? We can’t even keep people out of our country. I think the running number is something like 200 million guns in the country. You think you can find them all even if you supported confiscation?

You know where a criminal gets a gun? Anywhere they can.

So you'd consider 8 people dying instead of 9 a success?

I'm also guessing you don't own guns. As technology changes and presents new problems, you need to use technology to present new solutions. Not beg the most corrupt institution in existance to use tyranny to keep us safe. Read a history book.

Ban one type of gun and people will just choose another. So on a so forth until all guns are banned, then pockets knives. Etc.

Like everything in America. Good guys who play by the rules always get fooked in the long run because of what the bad guys do. This is why we can’t have nice things.

******** brought in over our open border will take out another 100,000 people this year, and no one will bat an eye at that either. In fact they’ll make sure to vote for leftist morons who will ensure that it continues to happen.

Your outrage is misplaced.
Yes and no. My emotion stems from things I can’t control, ie. some piece of sh!t taking out children along with my own. I’m not using illegal drugs nor is anybody else I care about. But innocent people are being murdered outright in record fashion.

If somebody dies because they’re OD’ing, frankly, that is natural selection doing its thing. And I don’t understand your stairwell vs mass shooting point at all. So because more people die in freak accidents a year vs methodical murder, it’s not as serious, or paramount? Idk that I follow you

Also lol if you die falling down your stairs. Again, natural selection

I already know whats going to happen. GenZ is especially triggered by all of this since they lived through school shooter drills in elementary and HS. Once they become the predominant voting block (which they've already achieved) and start electing more prominent GenZ politicians, theyre gonna go full potato vote to baneverything, not just AR-15s. it will probably be several years down the road once all of the old guard are out of office, but its coming.

Make criminal charges with harsh penalties for failing to properly store a weapon away from children... There's so many ways to create laws to lessen the access to firearms

People think stricter gun laws just means taking away peoples guns. there's way more creative solutions than that to keep guns out of the hands of people society doesn't want having access to guns. No solution is perfect, but as a rule they'd be more effective than the current laws

Right now almost any mongoloid over 18 can buy a gun without a background check in a private sale, which is insane

kinda off topic but this is certainly a thing where I use to live in NorCal.

Had some friends in HS that would lift their beater trucks, attach a bull-guard/Grill Guard and recklessly drive up in the mountains where deer are known to jump out. If the deer happens to get run over, well, there's no point in wasting the meat. The police actually appreciated them removing the carcass from the road (even if it wasn't deer season) so it was a win/win for everyone.
