I never cared for "In Bloom by Nirvana" until I heard the Sturgil Simpson version..this guy is getting huge, and changes up his style constantly..rap is just chit when you listen to Sturgil in comparison..he was on Rogan a bit ago.

As far as new music..country/rock..it doesn't get better than this..(kicks in @ 1:45)

music shouldn't be about IQ. it's about EQ.
This is true to a certain degree. Rappers talk about some detestable chit but personally I couldn't help myself but get into it. A lot of miscers and people online asking "how could anyone enjoy this" strike me as being tryhard contrarians. Very valid point about the open market making it's decision regarding rap vs other genres. Realistically people have always loved the allure of the degen lifestyle. Back in the 50s it was marlon brando, now its chiraqians. That said not sure where this rock has to be explained chit comes from. I've enjoyed plenty of rock songs just based on the sound and a lot of rock fans are probably the same way. Back in the late 00s-early 10s there were a few bangers by Paramore or All-American Rejects, that's the last time I remember it being mainstream and good. Any other rock band I've listened to was just some band no one else knew about.

An argument can be made for record execs commercializing rap over other genres being the reason why rock has lost a lot of popularity as well. Gotta ask yourself why artists like Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, or G-Unit got more playtime than artist like Common, Lupe Fiasco, or Mos Def back in the day. If it's that bad within the hip-hop genre then they're probably not giving other genres a chance.
Do not think that what is hard for you to master is humanly impossible; and if it is humanly possible, consider it to be within your reach.

Its all Jew controlled so just like they pushed BLM and Pride chit on the population with MSM and social media, they do so with music as well.

Can't have white boys feeling a vibe and empowered with something like Pantera or Slayer...nah...we got to have these young people blasting ghetto rap chit that aspires to degeneracy. Further...rap is low talent garbage in which all you are selling is an image. Just put the willing negro out in front that can further degeneracy and suddenly he is Billboard Top 10. Hell, they convinced a bunch of you ph@ggits to wear skinny jeans with similar ploys.

Bottom line, music sucks because ((they)) took it away from you and convinced you this is popular.

B L A C K music use to be sooo damn good. I grew up in Chicago, and my neighbors were always playing old soul/blues..which alot of rock like Led Zeppelin is derived from..what music has turned into now in that community, I just can't stand, I guess Sugar Hill Gang is about as good as it got for me. But just listen to how good soul was compared to the crap now..

that brought us this..and the panties still drop to it..

that's why rock isn't organic. rock is a manufactured music. when you have to explain to someone how they should like a certain music you've already lost the true meaning of good music. it doesn't need to be explained.

this is just manufactured trash

My daughter and her friends listed to 70s, 80s and 90s rock.

There is alternative music post 2010 that's pretty good, but nothing like the 90s and early 2000s.

The good stuff is harder to find. That trend has been going on for a while. I’ll say this, your average top 20 list in 1996 had better music than your list last year. Not discounting that some new stuff is good, it’s just not mainstream anymore.

You clearly have no fukin clue what you're talking about. I follow EDM and Rock. Rock shows are dead, and quite a few EDM acts and festivals sell out instantly across the world. It's huge all over the world. There's never been more music in the genre than there is now. Boomers or not, the audience doesn't give af, because the older you are, the better they are at mixing. And they have a ton of ghost producers working for them. Most DJs are not producers, they're DJs only with a team of people.

Its still around, just like blues music.

There are full scenes where new bands are performing new music all the time. Just because its not on the radio doesnt mean its not still around.

Some bands, even back in the day, hardly ever were on the radio when you think about it.

"With Arms Wide Open" is a song by American rock band Creed. It was released on April 18, 2000, as the third single from their second studio album, Human Clay. The song reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in November 2000, becoming the band's first and only song to top the chart.

"How You Remind Me" is a song by Canadian rock band Nickelback. Written by lead singer Chad Kroeger and composed by the band, the track was released on July 17, 2001, as the lead single from their third studio album, Silver Side Up (2001). A "Gold Mix" was made for latter editions of the single, with the heavier guitars edited out of the chorus.

Considered to be Nickelback's signature song,[4] "How You Remind Me" reached the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 and was named the number-one most played song on US radio of the 2000s decade by Nielsen Soundscan, being spun over 1.2 million times on US airwaves since its release in 2001 to the end of 2009.[5] The song was ranked fourth on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of the Decade and 75th on the UK decade-end chart.[6] It was nominated for the Kerrang! Award for Best Single. "How You Remind Me" was also rated the number-one rock song and number-four alternative song of the decade of the 2000s by Billboard.

It's been over 20 years since a rock song was #1. Cold play is not rock music.

It's probably suffering the same fate as many genres right now; barely any radio play, while the real gems can be found online.

I've given up on the radio. Most rock stations just keep playing the same old songs over and over.

I also think the rising popularity in making music on computers has dissuaded some people from learning an instrument.

Rock is done evolving and nu-metal is it's final form. There's nothing left but nostalgia and cover songs.

You know rock is dead when the top bands are some Scandinavian Elvis impersonators, an ugly chick from Pennsylvania, Cindy Lou Hoo, and a bunch of geriatric guys who haven't wrote a good song in 30 years.

Was going to drop some soul crushing nagasaki blackpill on why rock music is absolutely embarrassing and soulless, but I see my fellow yellow peril bro GoldenBull has already done a good job.

Rock music has no joy in it. For all my life I just couldn't figure out why I do not enjoy that music. I've gone through phases where I've liked everything under the sun, yet I simply cannot do it with rock music.

Then as I got more and more blackpilled to the world, I realize the reason being is that rock music simply has no joy in it. Let me summarize this up nicely.

Rock music perfectly encapsulates White people's narcissistic obsession with pretentious intellectualism instead of simplistic beauty.

It's as Cocksalesman said, good music does not need any sort of technical breakdown, or be told HOW to enjoy. It simply is. Joyous rhythm is a universal language. RHYTHM. The inexplainable joy of a song that naturally and instinctively makes you want to get up and dance. Not any dance, but beautiful dancing that's characterized by free-flowing highly coordinated movement that's in sync with the music.

You play rap music, people start doing hip hop dances. You play EDM, they start shuffling/breakdancing. You play kpop, and there's a million choreography. You play R&B and people start slowdancing/grinding. Hell, you play country and they start square dancing.

What the fukk do rockers do when they play rock/death metal? They fukking do air guitars and start moshing like a bunch of dysgenic, rhythmless retards. Yes, air fkn guitar is the peak of dancing in rock music.

The other factor is that 99% of all rock artists are pretentious drug addicts, depressed losers, depressed drug addicts, or out of touch suburban White liberals. People think I'm trolling when I tell them that the major reason why White kids in the West are all depressed and on drugs is because they grew up all their fkn lives listening to music made by depressed druggies like Nirvana, Korn, Alice in Chain, Guns and Roses, Black Sabath, Pink Floyd, and chit like that.

Sad and depressed people make sad and depressing music.

Rock music deserves to die because it brings no joy to the world.

Right. And European classicals are also trash. Nobody listens to that chit for joy.

It's high society snobbery where they gaslight you as ignorant for being "unable" to enjoy that garbage.

Nobody's playing Bach at a BBQ, party, wedding, or any social gatherings.

Rock is dying because the culture that produced organic rock is dead. Just think how many great rock bands started with a bunch of bored teenagers learning instruments and playing in their parents garage after school in an attempt to impress the sloots, until it grew into something more. That isn't happening anymore. Kids barely even go outside and socialize, let alone play musical instruments enough to gain some sort of mastery over them.

The barrier for entry in starting a rock band is too high for a bunch of kids who refuse to go outside, socialize with each other, don't have the perseverance to learn an instrument, and who would rather pass time by posting their latest gender reassignment to Tiktok for online clout. It's over.

It isn't "dead." There's more bands than ever. It's just that mainstream music is pretty much the same 20 - 30 industry plants who share the same song-writers who have probably been using AI to compose their tracks for the last 20 years.
Then every few years they shuffle in a new industry plant...Justin Beiber, Billy Eilish, Ice Spice...and then force-feed them to people for decades.

Will rock come back in the mainstream? I don't think so. Seems like that crappy "Ghost" band monopolized the entire rock mainstream and is the only new band that gets any coverage.

Aren't those all youtube artists?

They are terrible musicians. Their popularity stems from the youtube algorithm based on who gets more clicks from kids that are barely potty trained.

The problem with rock music is that it naturally attracts the pretentious 2deep4u pheggets of society.

While people making hiphop, EDM, Kpop, Western pop are in it to make bangers after bangers after bangers. Club hits after club hits after club hits.

The pheggets making rock songs are more interested in "having deep message" and "highly technical composition" and "we rEaL ArTIsTs and we sing and play our instruments live herpderp" and all types of snobby pheggetry. And it's always highly political. Which is fine, but as proven by the coh19 pandemic, 99% of these rock rebels are industry plants and will tow the line quicker than anybody. They present the image of being rebelious, but are the biggest fkn cucks.

And rock still hasn't recovered from its embarrassing image of being whiny, angsty, White atheist dorks of the 90s and 2000s.

Look back at how fkn cringe bands like 3 Days Grace, Stained, Nirvana, Korn, Marilyn Maso, etc., were. If music genre were a sexual death sentence LMAO.

No it can't.

Radio rock is mostly whiney songs about depression, self harm, regret, etc.

Back in the 80s, rock was all about partying.

Now, rap is the party music.

Hell, even country is more "party" now than radio butt rock
