The market down under must have a higher demand and shorter supply because "econoboxes" and "regular cars" in the USA 100% take losses during secondary sales. To be honest Im skepticle that you made profit from regular cars too.Dont forget the cost of maintance and repairs you paid all those years, make sure to factor that into the "profit". Just like when people "profit" off of their home sale. So you bought for 300k and sold for 400k, nice. But how much did you pay in maintenace over the years? People get funny with numbers to justify arguments.

I know that just triggered a few people that sold a car/truck during a 6 month period between 2021/2022 when the supply/demand was out of control for hot minute. Now its back to reality because the mouth breathers stopped paying 5k above asking price for chevy's.

I know toyota holds value, but "holding value" is slang for less of a loss. Virtually every single car $0-$100k depreciates dramatically a minute after you buy it, then year by year it gradually declines. If people made money buying cars new and selling them two years later more people would do it...

Lower quality toilet paper and paper towels. Yeah, it's true that you can get like twice as many rolls if you go with a cheap brand. Doesn't really save any money in the long run when you have to use 2x - 3x more to get the same wiping job done, though.


Cheap dishwashing/laundry detergents. Same thing as cheap TP/paper towels, you just end up using so much more of low-quality stuff that it ends up not mattering.
