400k + she's barely ever home? Sounds pretty nice, actually.

I don't know why you wouldn't want a girl who's a decent earner, what's the downside to having more money? I didn't plan it but it worked out that way.

I've got a friend who makes good money as an engineer in oil & gas but his girlfriend didn't work for years and did a part-time degree that was about ten hours a week and spent the rest of the time eating and watching Netflix. Needless to say it didn't work out.
I don't see why men wouldn't want the money if you're married?

Would a guy seriously rather be married to someone who works at Target over someone who works at Google? Think about his lifestyle--the vacations, electronics, cars, etc?

The accomplishments in one's career help one's self esteem. This has nothing to do with what a romantic partner would value or not--this is internal.

NOW when you have kids then it's important that one parent be home during the day as much as possible with a child, if they can afford it. But the OP didn't bring kids into the mix.

Aaaannnnddd of course, op is a pharmacist (not really, but you get my point).

However, after my ex-wife, a societal leach, I must say I picked a successful career girl after. However, she does actually contribute to household expenses so it isn't a typical "your money is ours, and my money is mine" situation.
Every guy says this until the breakup/divorce, then they say the chick wasn't really fully pulling her weight.

i mean you can marry the hot girl working at target but just know a good percentage of what you worked for until age 42 or something will be taken by her
Yeah because Abrey won't ask you for ANY help in paying back the $100k she winds up spending in total on student debt/interest while she spends 20 - 30 years paying off her bachelor's degree.
