Ez to defend this, your brain isn't firing on full cylinders today. Horizon presents itself as a fantasy. She is able to make these takedowns because of advanced tech which only she has that basically work like magic and give her powers. The game isn't trying to be realistic in any way whatsoever and doesn't present that way.

If you make a game in an extremely grounded world like GTA where you don't expect powers and giant machines, it then becomes immersion breaking to have a woman play as this badass crime boss.

Conversely, nobody is gonna complain about an X-men game where you play as Storm and can take out small armies of the toughest fighters. Nobody is complaining that a 5'3 teenage chick with zero muscle mass can beat Kazuya Mishima in Tekken. Everything depends on the setting and the rules of the world they make.

I get what you're saying but GTA isn't a simulator so I'm not sure why you would compare it to forza and f1, two games clearly defined with arcade and simulator titles. Gta and horizon are both arcade style games. No one buys either of these games for realism or expects that from them.

Theres really nothing that ungrounded about a woman gta character imo. I'm sure it will have cringe moments, but I doubt any more than any other game with a female protagonist.

I mean we all played tlou as ellie and massacred hundreds of grown men as a little girl. Was that realistic? **** no lmao, her little ass would been dead as fuk in the first level.

GTA presents itself as far more realistic than any of those other games you mentioned tho. And GTA's immersion/sandbox is far more important than those other games as well.

GTA is presenting itself as a 1:1 mapping of reality and you're also expected to role play and fuk around in this real world so I'd argue that immersion and realistic expectations here is much higher than it would be for a linear zombie apocalypse game.

Lmao, yeah, I guess because there's zombies all other logic goes out the window and it's totally normal that a 90lb 14 year old girl is fighting grown men in hand to hand combat.

So, it makes sense in the last of us that a 14 year old girl can do it, but not in gta that an adult female is doing it. Got it. Thanks for clearing that up.

She's playable in TLOU 2 where she's an adult.

If you're asking if I can envision a world where a female who was born into a zombie apocalypse can learn to navigate the world and use stealth to take out men and zombies, yeah I can. There's never any big brawls with her, it's always stealth play or actually luring in zombies to take out the men for you.

Compare that to a realistic world today where a chick is going around robbing banks, leading robberies, gang wars, high speed police chases etc... Nah that's a bit too much. If you're asking for that kinda realism, the rules of the world should be very confined.

And like someone said above, the characters regularly pull goddamn RPG's from their back pocket and fire them with zero recoil. Yeah, GTA looks realistic, but it always has, and always will be arcadey. We chased a train on a dirt bike ffs. In an arcadey environment, a chick doing hoodrat chit with her friends is plenty plausible.

Well damn since its that arcadey would it be better if they had super powers and they make it like a marvel x GTA crossover? Throw in some robot dinos for good measure too. After all, there's funny rocket launcher physics so that means anything is allowed according to you.

If you're creating a world, its internal rules need to be believable. Again, not perfect but believable. If you're making a video game with social media, a realistic known city, current cultural references, celebrities and music then yeah I'd say the characters you play as should also feel genuine. I don't expect to play as Kratos in that world just the same as I don't expect to play as a female mob boss who goes out doing drivebys, drug deliveries, shootout with the cops and robbing banks. Neither character would feel believable if I'm to pretend GTA is a reflection of Miami in 2023. It breaks immersion.

There have been plenty of female cartel members, drug dealers, assassins and gangster. Your entire argument makes no sense.

I don't like woke in general but just chitting on GTA 6 because the main character is a chick is a bit dumb. If there's a lot of wokeness and gay chit throughout the entire game I'll definitely be with you on the criticism though.

Wonder how "connected" this game will be to others. Will they blur the lines between story mode and online mode? Or will they follow the GTA 5 online model

Bad thing about open world games is how boring and predictable they get after playing a bit. One potential way to spice it up is to introduce a heavier multiplayer focused story that can introduce players into your game. GTA online does this to an extent, but is a separate entity from the main story.
