The bigger question is if someone is going to Uber every other day, how many days per week are they making money? 3 or 4?

nah, its better to get paid a stable hourly wage.

uber is too much down time between rides, unless you work in a busy city. but then your dealing with chitty pick ups and drop offs and traffic.

Can confirm I’m an Uber driver

It def isn’t worth it these days I stopped doing it

I just now use it for destination mode when I have to go somewhere anyways so I get my gas paid and a lil more

I was checking my taxes from 2017 and last year where I made the same amount but I drove double the miles in 2023

So there u have it much less earnings than before
I don't check my CP, IDC about reps/negs

No matter how you calculate it, the guy is so stoked about making $300 kind of tells you what you need to know especially considering that's before expenses and he has a ride home to he isn't getting paid.

Did you work in a resort area? Did you work 10 hour days focused on peak rideshare hours? Obviously you won't have much of a social life, but if you drive 5PM to 2AM in a resort town like Vegas or Miami I'd imagine you would clean up.

Nah man, you just gotta buy a car that is $0/mile to drive around in..... Miscers believe this car exists .... No one can name it, but it must exist because all the math ITT does not include the cost of driving a car hundreds and thousands of miles.

So at first you're like, OK, $100/hr to drive someone aint bad....

*BUT...

Let's say he was going an average of 50mph for this 3 hour ride, so he did 150 miles ONE WAY. Obviously he didn't find anyone at that destination to drive all the way back home, so he ultimately had to traverse 300 miles total to complete his 150 mile mission.

his 3 hour drive is actually a 6 hour drive because he had to come all the way home.

the IRS estimates that your cost of ownership on the average vehicle in the USA is $0.67 per mile - so his expense on the car alone is $0.67x300miles = $201.

So now he's down to a net of $99...

$99 divided by 6 hours of drive time is $16.50 per hour BEFORE TAX.

Wish I could have done the math quickly in the car and given him the bad news, but I didn't do it until this morning.

IN N OUT pays more.
What goes through someones mind to the point that they have to go full Rainman and calculate this chit to the point of posting a gotcha moment on the Misc days later?

That comes out to 2700 an hour.

The problem is you didn't have health insurance and the ER charged you 10 grand to remove the 14 inch ribbed black dildo

So you lost money, your dignity, and pheggorts are jacking it to you

No worries, the IRS will buy his dildo, pay for his hospital bill, and also give him an extra $0.67 per minute of web camming just because.
