2.) so you didn’t bother to see what types of material DeSantis wanted to get removed from the schools, you just opposed it because he is on “the other side”. And equating removing books from a children’s library to “banning and or/burning” books is a huge false equivalency. I would recommend going back and looking at some of the material that was inside kids’ libraries(100% srs)
3.) I agree that it is intellectually lazy(actually…not intellectual at all) to just throw that word around to try and attack someone on the other side. There is plenty of substance to bring up and point out without just defaulting to attacks. In those instances I would say it’s like the right’s equivalent of racist, sexist, whatever other ist
4.) again every person I’ve ever seen on this forum that defends or supports them is on the left. And I’d say it’s a very substantial percentage.
5.) if so much of the country agrees then why is there so much push to teach children sexual material. We aren’t making this stuff up, middle and elementary schools are now pumping this stuff into children’s heads. Health leaders really are saying kids need access to gender treatment(which will likely wreck them for life). You can keep saying it’s a tiny fringe but there is a very clear direction that our county is being pushed. And it’s being pushed that way by people on the left, and resisted by people on the right. Again, that isn’t debateable no matter how small you estimate the percentage to be.

I can chat with Sillie on the Discord, which I generally avoid the randp bickering there, but we can talk and by the end of a discussion, turns out we're not all that far from each other on at least some issues.
Here, this is the Democrats so I'll focus on them, but too many bought what the fuking media was propagandizing with the Desantis/Disney/Groomer crap and fell into line, they stopped critically thinking and became entrenched. However, I bet at least 80% of them - without the propaganda and bullchit, if you just sat them down and showed them in an unbiased way, they'd either be fence sitting or outright on the side of Desantis.
The problem is Us Vs Them bullchit and the media manipulating people, nowadays I always try to focus on them and not finger wave at liberals or people on the left over whatever the issue, because this isn't a liberal thing, it's a human nature thing. The right gets snowed by Fox News propaganda or lying piece of chit manipulative Republican politicians sometimes, too. If my response was to waylay into liberals/lefties (as a whole), that's no better, because it's just doing the same thing, which is to ultimately divide and make people angry with each other while the elites laugh.

Then when presented with the reality that this would allow grown men to walk around nude in front of children he replied with “well they see their parents naked and nudity isn’t inherently bad anyway” and continued to deflect as per usual. I would link to the thread but Patty deleted it. But he could clear this up immediately by saying there should be a law which prohibits public nudity, but he won’t do it. Which tells you everything you need to know about his stance.
