always been that way...but 2 straight solid healthy years. Pitchers are delicate.

Just got a Bleacher Report notification from Buster Olney that the Yankees are "working on something big".....possibly Correa?

Can't believe it, but wouldn't hate it if they did. Sign Correa, trade Peraza and some pieces to Pitt for Reynolds.

Nah forget Correa. Let's go with Swanson. Then trade Gleybor.

Just not a fan of Correa. Swanson is the better player and will most likely be cheaper.

If no Rodon I'm still interested in the Gleybor/P. Lopez deal the Yankees were discussing. Maybe they could swing that and a Reynolds trade?

i wonder if the padres are thinking with the shift going away, 2B defense will be more important, so putting a SS at 2nd. Also RF defense more important so put a freak athlete there.

Braves haven't even had discussions with him so he's pretty much gone.

At this rate I'm not all that convinced Swanson will even be all that cheap though. Everyone getting massive 11 year deals. It was one thing to see Turner get something like that but I admit I was shocked Bogaerts got an 11 year deal. Then you got Nimmo getting an 8 year deal. Braves should have extended Swanson during the season for 6/$150 mil when they had the chance. Now he's going to get a 10 year $260 deal. I'm not onboard with the Braves handing out something like that to him. There are limits. I'm not interested punting 3-4 years on the back end of any contract for some old f*cker who is useless.

Imagine having a 37+ year old SS.... wtf are Philly and SD thinking? The defense is gonna deteriorate so fast.

All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Expectations were in the 6 year $140 million range. You're right though, price has probably gone up substantially due to those other contracts.

Either way he should be cheaper than Correa. I also think he's the better player

Why the f*ck would 2B be more important with the shift going away? SS still has further to throw the ball and the same amount of ground to cover defensively with no shift. Not to mention there's twice as many right handed hitters in the league aslant handed hitters (35%).

And why is RF defense more important all of a sudden? Teams have always tried to position a guy with a strong arm there. LMAO wtf... are you new to baseball?

Krazy officially off the hook as having the least logical posts ITT. Congrats Krazy!

I don't like Correa either so I'm with you there. And yeah he will be cheaper, someone will be stupid and pay Correa a bunch. Still, the length of these contracts has risen above what I think smart teams should be doing. It's one thing to give Swanson $25 mil until he's 35 years old and another to give him $25 mil (or even $22-23 mil if you want to lower the AAV with more years) until he's 39 years old. F*ck that.

Honestly since the Braves have clearly given up on Swanson I actually would take Torres gladly. Move Albies over, play Torres at 2B. Albies was always supposed to be a SS anyway so we'll be fine there.

Not a bad player....just tried to hit a 500' homerun every single time. Regardless of the situation. Cannot stand that sh|t.

For the Dansby stuff though if you guys are hoping NYY goes after him I doubt you'll hear much news until at least early next week. He's supposedly getting married this weekend, so if that's true I'd be surprised if he's making any contract decisions for a bit.

I necessarily wouldn't be against Anderson if they can't get someone like P. Lopez.

I don't really see the Marlins swapping Lopez for anything revolving around Torres. There's not enough control left for Torres and he's not really going to be cheap enough for the Marlins in his final arb years. Those are the years the Marlins get rid of their prospects, not bring them in.

But maybe you guys could figure out a different deal to entice Miami for Lopez. I'd just be surprised if it involved Torres.

For what it's worth Torres to the Braves is also a pipe dream because that's probably still too expensive for these ph aggots.

Braves are just gonna stick Grissom out there and watch the errors pile up. I bet they don't even have enough intelligence to slide Albies and at least let Grissom make all of his mistakes at 2B.

The main reason I said Gleybor for Lopez is supposedly that trade was being discussed during the year. So there's interest on both sides.

I'm surprised there's not more talk about Swanson. Partly waiting for everyone else to sign, but also maybe people think his success isn't sustainable, he really only had this great year, contract year. someone typically will overpay after a year like that....

He's had two really solid seasons in a row. Last year doesn't really jump off the page vs 2021. Just solid progression.

With these contracts this year he'll probably get $200 million. I still cannot believe the Padres gave Xander 11 years.

seems like some new philosophy to overpay then just eat the money while rebuilding in 8 years
