The Chicago State’s Attorney Office, led by top prosecutor Kim Foxx, told local cops to stop their investigation into Jussie Smollett even though it had no authority to do so, according to public records and law-enforcement sources.

The embattled office — which was supposedly picking up the probe from cops after Smollett’s indictment in the alleged phony race-hate attack — also never even requested the evidence that cops had built their case around, documents released by the Chicago Police Department on Thursday show.



Chicago cops say in the papers that shortly after a grand jury handed down a 16-count felony disorderly-conduct indictment against Smollett, they were told by the prosecutor’s office that “they could no longer investigate the crime.”

Law-enforcement sources told The Post on Friday that the directive was highly unusual and that prosecutor’s office ”had no authority” to ask cops to get off the case. But police followed the order.


That same day, Lanier told the department that she’d “likely” send it a request for the evidence by March 11. She never did, the records show.

The documents also shine a light into how the police department was duped by Foxx’s office into thinking Smollett would be prosecuted for allegedly lying to cops that he was beaten by a pair of Trump-loving white men on a desolate street corner near his house on Jan. 29.

This entire saga signifies in a nutshell how far crazy the left has gone, and why so many in the center/right are angry about it.

A guy fakes a hate crime, blaming whites, and then instead of being put into jail for it, gets off from a black prosecutor and has even gotten fame out of it.

The pendulum is way far to the left right now, but it will swing back.

That movie was absolute trash. Terrible acting because of terrible direction IMO (even the better actors performed poorly). A lot of it was poorly written too.

Don't understand how one of the most amazing creations like the xenomorphs could do nothing, but breed chity movies.

Why can't you have people be smart and then have the badass creatures kill them? I just end up hoping they all get murdered and don't ever watch it again.
