People who see their body as a canvas and get it solely for aesthetic and artistic reasons are generally laid back a cool AF. However, people who think they're special snowflakes and get 'meaningful' tats for 'philosophical' reasons are usually shallow *******s who are either desperately craving for attention; trying to prove their worth by purposely labeling themselves as independent, freethinker, caring, religious, spiritual, loving, compassionate, etc, depending on what tat they have; or they're doing it for a quick self-esteem/ego boost. Wouldn't say they're doing it to fit in anymore as tats are no longer taboo

edit: lol when some sloot single mom talks about how much she loves her kids and how tattoos of her kids' footprints and names are 'proof' of her love and how much she cares yet she's a chitty single mom and doesn't actually do a good job of molding them for the future.

That's due to heavy government propaganda in the US. Some loser joins the service, drives a truck for a few years, maybe loses a limb, gets back to his Oklahoma or whatever and thinks he is a hero. Becomes a mechanic and slowly kills himself with booze and benzos.

Tattoos were originally for people with dirty hands, like soldiers, gangsters, yakuza, and people from the underworld. Basically aberrations. That's what made them cool. It meant that you meant business and had a big "resume". At least in western culture. Now that everyone is "omg when he was beard, tattoos and a manbun>>>>>" fukkin gay posers.


Now ritualistic tattoos with spiritual purpose are the only ones I look at with reverence because they haven't been tainted by western vanity

Don't have them, don't care who gets them. Do what you want with your body, it's not mine.

I'm an Engineer and always will be an Engineer, I'd have no restrictions in my work life if I had a tattoo - I just don't want one.

Lol @ people saying "IMAGINE WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE AT 60/70!", by that point, who cares? At that age in life looks shouldn't be an issue, and if it is, you've gone the wrong way about life.

I've personally never liked the idea of getting tattoos because I didn't want to ruin my skin, especially knowing I'd most-likely regret it in the future. Had nothing to do with how it made me be perceived by others.
