The train will travel a longer distance because the car simply can't sustain 200mph for too long before it runs out of fuel.

magtrains are not floating because they are magnetically repelling a metal running rail, in the literal sense. I mean it is a piece of metal, called a guideway, but it's being electrified to induce a magnetic field so it operates as a magnet. the shoe of the maglev wraps around the guidway and is repelled from every direction, making it float.

Friction force bydefinitionis a force applied opposite the direction of motion, not downward.

And is not a result of gravity, but a result of relative motion between objects that have inertia.

Lets say first of all that both are racing a distance of 100miles. So both doing 200mph would mean in half hour the race is over for both. Well you would be wrong.

First of all. A train has many stops. An avergae train stops 10 times with an average stop time of a minute, therefore this additional 10 minutes would needed to be added on. Taking the train 40 mins to reach its destination. Meanwhile the car finished 10 mins earlier and the driver has some time to do some pushups.

No one has also taken into account the length on the carriage f the train but thats another argument.

If the observer is standing on the train then the car is faster.

If the observer is driving the car then the train is faster.
