If your lifes goal is to own a house then I feel sorry for you. The goal of life is to have the best experience you can have and imo that doesn't come from living with the parents into adulthood. Live within your means and it may take an extra few years you buy a house but it would be worth it.

27 and moving back in. **** San Francisco, too expensive. Plus I miss my parents and all my younger siblings. Come at me.

I'm also hispanic, and it's pretty normal for kids to stay with their parents until their early 30's or they get married.

I am 30 and just moved into an apartment with my girlfriend having lived with my parents all my life and while finishing my uni degree....and I fuking hate it.

I am still job searching for full time career, we have a housemate, I don't have my own space anymore, I get home from work at night and need to see my room mate and her mates having pre drinks in my living room or my girlfriend and the roomie having a convo on the couch in front of the tv.

I think don't move out of home until you can afford to live happily under your own circumstances...like a house you want with everything you need.

At home I had my own space, do what the fuk I want, no rent, can take my time looking for a job related to my degree, can get home and no one is in my space having drinks or discussing their days over wine.

Sounds to me like you are trying to compensate for something. You don't live with your parents and that's a pretty common stigma so saying what you're saying gives you a little ego boost. You probably do this with dozens or even hundreds of things on a daily or weekly basis to give you little ego boosts here and there. I feel more sorry for you than this guy you're talking about.

aylmao living with parents atm after renting for a few years. not even mad, housing market here is bat**** insane and if I ever want to hold a mortgage I'll need to move out of province. so I'd rather keep my money and help my old man than to get raped by foreign speculators.

As my parents get older the idea of leaving them to do heavy lifting / basic **** like carrying groceries etc seems a bit sad. They raised me now I should pay them back by being around to protect and look out for them. Not that I don't plan to move out but I'm not in a rush and there's things about staying longer that I feel good about (aforementioned)

However it is also laziness and lack of independence on my part. Which I don't really mind but technically not good things. (23 btw)

Damn. Nice. That was my original plan. Didn't have enough saved though. Is yours giving you good returns so far? Socal market is insanely inflated, hope it goes down late 2017 and I can just dump a good portion of savings on a rental soon after.

Uhhh...that's the Baby Boomers, if you are legitimately blaming 35 year olds for phucking up the economy then you are naive as phuck...or just plain stupid.

Anyway, I think there is a middle ground. This isnt like the 1950's or whatever, and I dont subscribe to that 18 out the door mentality.

That being said...yes life is hard, yes the economy and job market is pretty shytty, shyt is expensive, etc...but seriously some of you in your mid to late 20s+ seem too damn comfortable with/shameless about living at home and mooching off your parents. With stuff like this, its no wonder people talk so much shyt about the millenials (which Im one too apparently) Also, there are plenty of ways to find roommates and keep your costs down, you dont just have to go out and get a place completely to yourself.

And this, its easy to find people to live with and its a good experience. You've wasted your youth if you lived at home longer then 23 srs.
