No fwb/gf at the moment
I've been thinking a lot about how my parents emotionally and mentally phuked me up as a kid and its correlation to some of the problems in my life
Don't have a desire to ever go home again and I'm living on my own right now which is cool sometimes but depressing at other times
I miss some of my old high school friends who I'll probably never see again

Money. The only industry around my city is health care, and I'm not about the double-shift, non-slip sneaker, working holidays life. Don't even want a lot of money, either. Just enough for a house and a WRX STI in the garage. Relationship wise we've been okay, but have enough prospects to not sweat if it flames out. Honestly the relationship would be perfect if we both had more money, lol. I want to move, but unsure where and family and lady are anxious and dig that slow suburban life. They aren't huge problems that drag on me, my life is comfy. All are within reach and can be taken care of, the timing just has to be right. Right job opening + right housing situation + right city + enough cushion to cover unexpected moving expenses.

Right now, lack of companionship. Been nearly 4 years since I've had a gf. And I was fine for 3.5 years of it. Last few months it has been bothering the hell out of me. Most of my friends are settling down getting married and having children. I haven't even started the process yet. I'm severely limited in that sense, I actually feel like there is something really wrong with me. The loneliness has been really bothering me recently.
I recently went traveling around Europe and felt more alive than ever and the loneliness went away. But when I got back, it all just came back.
I make more than enough money, I only actually live off 50% of my net income and the rest of it is banked. But my work contract ends towards the end of the year with no reassurance on it being renewed.
I'm so tempted to just buy a one-way ticket somewhere and vanish for long time. Maybe I'll find myself that way.

Feel like everything is behind me and I've done the stuff I really wanted to do and lived the life I wanted to live (and had any realistic hope of achieving). No real hunger or drive left. Or maybe it's just depression.

Probably my #1 regret is not having studied a science and become a scientist/researcher.
Basically generally not being a guy who uses 100% of his brain potential in his profession.
I really wish I were a PHD researcher who was passionate about his job, regardless of pay.

work.
Work has really screwed me over. ****ers don't know how to run a company. Took away all my co-workers which is the closet things to friends I have had since high school.
Was close to screwing one of the female ones so I could lose my v-card and she is gone too. Work sucks, then my weekend sucks because I think of work.

Damn this thread is just what I needed. Always feels good to write down things that bother you.
I've never been the popular kid and always was the loser in high school and college. People always telling your student years are the best however it's not the case for me. This created expectations I simply cannot live up to but kept yearning for. However, I was always kinda ok with it because I thought my time would come later. Like later I'd be a succesfull by having a good job, being attractive etc. Just like every guy that's older then 30 on the misc always tell you, creating more expectations.
Now i'm in the middle off trying to get a job (actually not even that, trying to find a place to write my paper) and my expectations led me to believe it would have to be at the top big 4 firms (I study accounting). However it's gonna look like not one and not even the firms under them are gonna hire me. I don't even get invites for a interview. I could write the best CV and application letter and it still wouldn't get my a inv. Now i'm kinda hopeless. Feel like those ****ing recruiters are ruining my future and the life I'd imagined.

Can't seem anything in life that I enjoy, don't know what to do career wise basically I don't know what to do in life in general. Have no friends or anything like a relationship and I'm lonely, not happy with myself, feel I don't belong and I'm a waste of space, get that vibe from my family that they are disappointed in me. Been feeling down for about 6 years now, it comes and goes, this year it seems to be more downs than ups, even lifting doesn't make me happy anymore, constantly keep thinking that I don't belong here and I won't be missed when I'm gone and how long I can carry on for, I'm a mess but I can't face going to see someone about it
Hell is other people.

Feeling the pressure to continue academic pursuits and get into the professional health care field or just decide that I want a lesser paying but lower stress job instead
Friends get GFs = see them 90% less
Feels like I can't form long lasting bonds with females anymore
Wanting to relive my teens with a lot more focus on competing at high levels in sports
Immediate family member recently diagnosed with cancer
Life just seems like a big pointless grind currently

Not progressing in life, always feel I'm stuck at the same place.
I always have new goals in life but I lose them pretty quickly.
I was supposed to study math, history and biology so I can enter college.
So I set myself that goal, studied math, but that's it for now... Completely forgot about history and biology.
I had so much motivation that I've studied math so fukin quickly, the teachers were surprised.
I've studied 5+ hours daily.
But now I just work.
I lost my motivation for that specific goal.
One time I set a goal to study personal training.
I was doing great in all the classes but skipped last class, was too lazy to finish it, lost the motivation.
6 months later I finished it though.
I always set myself goals I'm excited of, but then I lose the excitement and so does the motivation.

I have to mention, I've went through all the posts above, and man... !
I had no idea how many people are in the same situation as I am.
I had no idea how many of the miscers wished they live better than they are now.

i read this is a book recently and saved it. i plan to be my own man... soon.
Keys to Success - B.C. Forbes
Your success depends on you.
Your happiness depends on you.
You have to steer your own course.
You have to shape your own fortune.
You have to educate yourself.
You have to do your own thinking.
You have to live with your own conscience.
Your mind is yours and can be used only by you.
You come into this world alone.
You go to the grave alone.
You are alone with your inner thoughts during the journey between.
You make your own decisions.
You must abide by the consequences of your acts.
I cannot make you well unless you make yourself well, an eminent doctor often tells his patients.
You alone can regulate your habits and make or unmake your health.
You alone can assimilate things mental and things material.
Said a Brooklyn preacher, offering his parishioners communion one Sunday: I cannot give you the blessings and the benefits of this holy feast. You must appropriate them for yourselves. The banquet is spread; help yourself freely. You may be invited to a feast where the table is laden with the choicest foods, but unless you appropriate and assimilate them, they can do you no good. So it is with this holy feast. You must appropriate its blessings. I cannot infuse them into you.
You have to do your own assimilation all through life.
You may be taught by a teacher, but you have to imbibe the knowledge. He cannot transfuse it into your brain.
You alone can control your mind cells and your brain cells.
You may have spread before you the wisdom of the ages, but unless you assimilate it you derive no benefit from it; no one can force it into your cranium.
You alone can move your own legs.
You alone can move your own arms.
You alone can utilize your own hands.
You alone can control your own muscles.
You must stand on your feet, physically and metaphorically.
You must take your own steps.
Your parents cannot enter into your skin, take control of your mental and physical machinery, and make something of you.
You cannot fight your sons battles; that he must do for himself.
You have to be captain of your own destiny.
You have to see through your own eyes.
You have to use your own ears.
You have to master your own faculties.
You have to solve your own problems.
You have to form your own ideals.
You have to create your own ideas.
You must choose your own speech.
You must govern your own tongue.
Your real life is your thoughts.
Your thoughts are your own making.
Your character is your own handiwork.
You alone can select the materials that go into it.
You alone can reject what is not fit to go into it.
You are the creator of your own personality.
You can be disgraced by no mans hand but your own.
You can be elevated and sustained by no man but yourself.
You have to write your own record.
You have to build your own monument or dig your own pit.
Which are you doing?
Your success depends on you.
Your happiness depends on you.

A lot of these issues in this thread can be fixed by taking action in one's life.
Not making enough money? Do some side hustles. Lookup Gary Vaynerchuk, he talks a lot about this. Stop wasting all your time on misc. Stop playing video games all day. There's so many ways to make money, just pick one and put the time and effort into doing it.
No friends? Learn to socialize with people. There are books, courses for this. Join toastmasters, network, meetup.com. Improve your confidence at talking to people. Go to events in your city with like-minded people (self improvement talks, etc). Getting into pickup is a way to meet like-minded people too, dudes are always looking for wingmen on RSD ******** groups.
No girls? Nofap. Noporn. Go out. Learn to cold approach. Get on all the dating apps. Get experience. Practice. Go on as many dates as possible. Improve your skills at talking to women.
Unhappy? Read books on how to change your mentality on life. Meditate. Read Power of Now. Feel the fear and do it anyway. Constantly be learning. Learn to run your brain, like how you learned to drive a car. Take a mindfulness training course.
