Its going to sound harsh, but every time i see an article on someone who killed themselves i see someone who, if they had toughed it out a bit longer, could have led a happy life and it makes me sad.
Its a permanent solution to which, in most cases, is a temporary problem.
One of my really good mates in highschool killed himself, and you couldn't tell anything was wrong, he wasn't bullied or anything, was an A student and incredibly popular.
The day he killed himself, we went for our usual run and training session, had no idea that an hour after he went home he would kill himself, it ate me up for years thinking that I could have done something, until I realised that that last run was his way of saying goodbye, as far as i know i was the last person on this earth that he ever saw and that there is nothing that i could have possibly done.
this is the reason that i hate suicide, what ever was going on his life was nothing compared to watching his family go through his death and watching people say "oh he is in a better place now".
He was a really good mate of mine, and as much as i miss him to this day, i also hate him for what he put his family through

People who kill themselves have more mental issues than you did who stood up for yourself. huh, weird
You realize that though you and I and the other 7.6 billion humans have the same brains......they all work very differently? And what is seen as something silly or funny to you isn't so funny to others? What is sad to you isn't so sad to others?

Unbeliveable how women can be.
Especially nowadays with social media, she shows me snapchats of her friends, imagine a 12 year old saying things like choke me baby, or lewd sexual innunedos showing on their social media. Just unbeliveable.
My question is, where was the family, I dont want to judge, but where were they?

i hope you are teaching them that that type of behavior isn't right, and they need to find new friends, or should at least be commenting against the bullying. show them all the bully-suicide articles so they can learn.
if your kids end up bullying someone and their suicide is the outcome- you are just as much to blame. it all starts with the home.

I've pretty much seen bullying all my life since I was a little kid. There's always kids who try to punk you and run over you, I even did it myself to other kids sometimes. But that was just the beginning, it gets waaay worse by middle/high school, because by then kids become more smart and creative in how they can torment others.
Also, bullying goes on until adulthood, especially cyberbullying. Lmao you even see it here on the misc.

I wasn't abused persay, but my dad was very demanding I suppose. I lived in fear of him, him I would never dare stand up to or take my anger out on. I don't know if that contributed to my "acting out" at school. I never fully processed through it. I figure I'm grown up now, and judging by some of the kids I bullied whom I've reconnected with since on social media, I see many of them have made it in life compared to me. Have careers and success they deserve.

It must be so devastating having a child that gets bullied. And it's not always due to negligence. A woman at work has a daughter who gets bullied and she is doing everything she can to make it stop. What a sad and helpless situation to be in.
Its easier with boys because they are violent towards eachother. Psychological bullying that girls do is so much worse

fuk no, its a perpetual cycle of "be a man" when it really means the more abuse to sucess ratio you have the more you're looked upon as being amazing.

I gotta wonder about the bullies in the situation at hand though....if I ever egged a kid on and drove him to suicide....that damn bad, I'd think any bully deserved to be haunted by that at the very least.
Though here was one story that made me sick. A british girl bullied killed herself. Her parents left a pack of gum she liked on her grave, the bullies later on dug her up, opened the coffin, and took a piece of the gum from the pack her parents left with her, and her face had been slapped and spat on. I forget if it was investigated and if anyone was held accountable in that extreme case.

anyone who bullies another should go to prison. it should be a ****ing crime. not only does it cause serious PTSD, it ruins that person's life forever because it's effecting their education or their ability to work. utterly destroys their self-esteem. it's worse than people think because it's consistent.
it's just as bad as rape. people don't take it seriously enough.

Bullying is not character building,it destroys character. Of course if there are different levels of severity, and the victims can go several ways if the bullying is severe even if they are mentally sound at the time the bullying started and most important no action is taken by adults and other caregivers. They kill themselves, they go through life with mental health problems which has a huge economic and social impact, , some can function okay but within them there are unresolved issues which stops them from fulfilling their potential ,or perhaps they decide to take their pain out on others. Sometimes people are born a bit sensitive, which coupled with bullying is enough to make them snap. The doesn't excuse the bullies in any way shape or form.
It's not a new problem, it's just reported on more so these days. When I was at school years ago , a lad was thrown down the stairs of a school bus by bullies breaking his back. Nothing was done to the bullies at all. The teachers did not give a ****. And two people in the same year as me {both girls} took overdoses. Another lad, was being bullied, because his dad went up the school to complain, his dad was attacked soon after in the street by a gang. Later on that evening their house had it's windows smashed in with bricks. Again nothing was done by the school or the police. And my old school had an 'anti bullying policy'. The teachers just shut their eyes and closed their ears to what went on in class and at breaktimes. And I highly doubt much has changed.
I do wonder about the family background of this girl, because it's rare I think for someone to kill themselves right in front of her family which suggests she was angry at them or seriously mentally ill perhaps. There was obviously more going on, but inaction about the bullying she recieved would have made her mental state worse than it would have been. As for the bullies, criminal charges should be brought, harrassment like that should mean prison /young offender institution, I would also in these cases involve social services to investigate the bullies families. Because in my view , as usual we are focusing on the victims mental state yet I never bullied anyone ,most people don't, I do think people who bully people like this 'have things going on' as well.
I bang trannies.

They would continue ripping their flowers they had in the yards garden, they'd congregate to their home, playing loud ass music to poke fun at the fact that they drove their daughter to kill herself. Eventually some of them I believe were jailed, but the dad said after they were released that they continued harrassing them, as if driving their daughter to death was not enough. This happened.

Also some ppl are naturally good at physical confrontation and some are chite, not easy to teach.I hate parents who are negligent to deal with bullying almost as much as I hate bullies. You either teach your kid to fight back or you deal with it yourself. These ****ing dirtbag parents who stick their heads in the sand or pass the buck to the schoolteachers and then act so surprised when the kids kills themselves, it's so ****ed up.
If it's verbal; I suppose you could teach them techniques to discourage bullies, but that's not gonna be easy.
Vast majority of girls's bullying is verbal, psychological.
Then, deal with it yourself;
how can you deal with something happening in a school, club, whatever, when you're not there. You could speak to teachers and bullies' parents, but it may not necessarily make them stop. they'll just change tack, or damp it down temporarily. Also; can imagine speaking to bullies' parents could go two ways. Many would just say it isn't their kid, or report you for harassment etc.
Not to say that I don't think the parents in this case couldn't have done more. It's hard to imagine someone doing this if their parents were extremely supportive, had their back, were building them them up etc.

I have very mixed feelings on suicide.
I attempted suicide a couple years ago and was hospitalized for a couple weeks at a mental care facility.
I'm not in that same place now, but If I'm being completely honest there are a lot of days where I sit and wonder if it would have been better had I succeeded.
I don't think its a conscious choice, for me it's a chemical imbalance that leads to an almost animalistic urge to extinguish yourself. I think it's an evolutionary fukkup that is stuck in a lot of people, and it gets triggered when the rest of the "pack" ostracizes you and pushes you away. It's an evolutionary mechanism for thinning the herd.
I'm not saying that that's true for everyone, and people DO do it for revenge, attention, etc.
For me, it was (and still is) an urge that calls a lot. I can't let myself stand near a cliff or ledge without wanting to jump. I can't touch my guns without having a momentary "I should do it" moment. I can't take sleeping pills without considering finishing off the bottle and washing them down with vodka.
this isn't me saying "boo hoo give me attention."
i'm just saying for some people, the chemistry of your brain actually allows it to be a logical step, even if rationally 99% of people know it's not.
I know it sounds stupid and silly, but it's how I experience it.
that being said, the reason I haven't ever attempted again is that I realized that if I grab myself by the balls and push through, I'll be fine.Life is beautiful if you look in the right places.
I dunno man. Super sad.

I was bullied from grade 4 to grade 12, due to that i had no friends, fat as fuk (almost 300), literally played video games 15hrs a day because too scared to go outside or to school most days, had sever anxiety, socially awkward as fuk, but you know what i pushed through their bs and knew i was the better person.
Now look at me, tall, aesthetic, decent physique, confident and charasmatic, have a good amount of close friends, and is quite lucky with the females.
It did take me all of college to attain those attributes but i finally made it.

I would phucking eat lunch by myself for most of high school and was a complete retard but I never felt sorry for myself or wanted to get everyone back at everyone by killing myself. I hate how people get so much media coverage once they're dead and everyone acts like the world is all sunshine and rainbows lmao, as if the same mfs haven't put other people through bullchit similar to what happened to this chick

Fluoxetine worked okay, nothing else really helped, but even then it may have been placebo because after a couple months I didn't notice anything different day to day.
Not sure man tbh.
I found that hiking, lifting, and banging my chick all did more for me than any pill (very srs)

Yes, life is beautiful if you look in the right places, concentrate on that.
Have you tried any medication to try to 'correct' brain chemistry, does it help?
Also - re. urge to jump off high places; that's not a suicidal thing, it's very common, it's a psychological phenomenon;
"When the results were correlated, the team arrived at the following, admittedly somewhat speculative, scenario: Imagine a person with high anxiety sensitivity. She leans over a ledge of the Grand Canyon. In super fast reaction to her physical sensation of anxiety, her survival instinct forces her away from the edge. Yet when she looks at the ledge, she sees it’s sturdy. There was never any danger. Her brain tries to process an answer to the question “Why did I back up if it was safe?” A logical answer is that she must have been tempted to jump.
In other words, Hames explained, people misinterpret the instinctual safety signal, and conclude they must have felt an urge to leap. Hence the study’s title: “An Urge to Jump Affirms to Urge to Live.” "
I'd say any awareness of a potentially dangerous/lethal situation could cause the same effect.
Edit: seen answer re. anti-depressants; yeah I'd agree. Seems like they fk some ppl up worse.
Also: this thread on the misc has a certain irony, given the level of bullying on here is the worst I've seen on any forum to date. Some of it done by posters saying they're anti-bullying ^.

I guess the whole point of my long rambling post is that frankly, none of us knows what was going on in the head of that girl.
Hell, her own family could have been bullying her, we don't know.
What we DO know is that for her, in that moment, death was more welcoming than life, and she tragically wasn't able to hang on.
Suicide is awful and I hate that it happens, but I don't think that we can sit here and play a blame game with anyone.
on a side note, I don't think "raising awareness" for suicide helps. I think it may actually hurt. If we "raise awareness" and suicide becomes a mainstream topic, it'll become a mainstream trend for dealing with a chitty life too.

Was bullied from middle school to about 11th grade. Can only sympethize with the victims, its a harsh life when your young. Luckily, one of the most popular girls in school, total blond babe with blue eyes, went on the sjw train and dated a minority loser after being in the same homeroom and sitting close together becuase of last name proximity, thus being grouped up together all the time. I always wondered if it was the begining of the sjw trend, or if she really liked him.
That loser was me
That loser was me
