Your solutions are spot-on. Although I'd say don't just read older books. But for every new book you read, make sure you read two older ones. Read Dante. Read Shakespeare. Read CS Lewis. Read Chesterton. Read great epics from other cultures (such as the Ramayana) that highlight the primacy of universal moral laws.

This is the great irony of the "multiculturalists" - they actually do not respect ANY cultures.
