You're right that the short-term 'solution' to bring the police over does nothing to prevent it from happening again. We as a society has fallen so low that we just put give out band-aid solution on kids so they get out of our way (started with ritalin pills). Just sad.
It's just all a clusterfuk

My most strong social/political opinion is that kids should not be held accountable for nor have their lives governed by their parents decisions.

We should provide a platform from which all children are set up to succeed, so they can win or lose by their own hand, in doing so maximising the economic and social freedom available to the individuals.

It's worse than that brah, not only is that a waste of time and money, it's a waste of time and money that could be out towards the cause of the problem, the kids home life.

I know the kid, he is my old best mates younger brother, his mother is an alcoholic, who has been arrested and in rehab, his dad was a typical stoner until he was forced to get a job, they live in isolation, in a tiny shed, he has two other brothers living there ages 1 and 4, his older brother (16) just died in a tragic accident and his oldest brother (my mate) has his own kid with a deadbeat sloot to worry about, they have been in and out of fostercare etc.

I'm not gonna say he is a god kid, I is a little chit but he does have a good heart, he is smart and had potential to be a good athlete

I realise they can't take the kids away, but instead of bringing in the cops and making a fuss they could try help him find a better outlet or something

Rant over

Fuk the school system

Repped, fascinating srs
It all went south with the removal of corporal punishment. Its worked for generations up until then.

We are all governed by those in authority. In the case of kids, that begins with their parents.

That social freedom should be earned, not expected.

So much this. They come in to work and the first questions is when is break time? The next line of questions is why do they get the assignments they do, and why can't they choose? Flabbergasted at the audacity of these questions I told one to either take his station or go home. He was even surprised to discover the next day when he returned that he no longer had a job. Their sense of entitlement knows no bounds.

It's learned behavior, the entitledness I see in old people is the same I see in my peers. It's not rocket science

For adults yes.

But children should be given a platform to achieve or fail no matter who they are or where they come from.

A child can not control of their parents are meth addicted and homeless or millionaires, but these facts place extreme restrictions on the future life available to the child.

I personally feel that is not ideal socially or economically.
