I have way too many project cars. I part out a lot of cars to get parts for my projects. I do a little repair work for money too. I'm currently working towards building a bigger shop on a commercial lot so I can run a real business.

$10k for a tool box is pretty typical for a big pro quality box. That's just a bottom box too. Add in a top box and a cabinet on each side, and there are plenty of guys with $20k just in a tool box. I've got about $60k in tools and shop equipment. It's not unusual for a tech to have over $100k in tools.

I have absolutely nothing that I spent over $500 for the entire 2016, this was a year of savings for me. Also, I drive a piece of shat salvaged car, but it's fully paid off. The motor mounts on it are shot and it has a huge dent on the back. I'm going to drive it until the wheels fly off which I think might be soon, then send it to the dumpster.

All my money will be going to mortgage payments, savings, or stocks.

However, for 2017 moving into a new home, gonna need a new fridge, washer/dryer, furniture, power rack, concept 2 rower, new computer. If my car dies, will probably buy a new car, 15-20K, all cash paid.
