Ive been to Cancun twice.

My friend ripped the fire extinguisher off the wall and started praying in in the club. They took him downstairs and tried to take his money. Luckily some aussie also got dragged down for something different and they took $300 from him, like $20 from my friend and that was it.

I had a great time both years.

Not sure Id visit it now though.

Brah you just said u HEARD from friends and then say you know FOR SURE. 2 different contradictions. Not tryin to talk chit or nothing, but I LIVED there. I know many people who live there. crime rate is MUCH lower then most US cities of similar size.

They protect tourists there. They have special police just for them.

If anything happens, is bad press and causes millions of loss in tourism

Av. Chapultepec is where all the clubs (andros) are at. Theres clubs for all kinds of music (electronic, rock, top 40). Get tired of one spot? Dip out and walk 30 ft down to the next one.

Zapopan is the nice part of GDL. I confess I've only gone once but its really nice over there. It's where all the professional soccer players in GDL live.

Mercado Libre - San Juan de Dios is a huge outdoor flea market that has all the fake stuff. Clothing, leather goods (think LV, Hermes), shoes. It gets really packed as you walk thru and vendors constantly hound you. Keep your belongings in your front pocket. Only go here if you feel comfortable. Nothing is gonna happen if you do but one can feel overwhelmed.

Lake Chapala is south of GDL and looks nice af. Take a ride in a boat, enjoy the views. Buy a six and chill and drink at the Malecon.

I personally go during the festivities in Dec-Jan because in my town (Cajititlan) is known for having badass parties where the whole town is packed, theres a stage in the plaza where bandas play, TONS OF WOMEN both Mexican and USA born (hispanic tho, maybe saw like 3 white people). the Plaza and Malecon get super packed, people drinking, dancing, das it

BTW in GDL use Uber, Taxis are a ripoff. Theres a big issue there with the older taxi drivers who refuse to drop their prices while Uber is taking over. The local government is also trying to advance and get rid of taxis. They're not allowed to pick people up at the airport (huge fine plus federales posted up watching). Good, my whole stay I had to use two taxis because it was super late with no ubers around and they're fuking crybabies and are entitled as fuk. BRB my taxi ride was enough for like 4 Uber rides.

Whatever you do have fun and be open to try new things whether that be food or some activity. As long as are aware of your surroundings then nothing should happen. I'm not really sure what kind of things you like but just PM me if theres something you're wondering.

I really liked Cozumel when I the cruise came to port. I didn't get to see the tequila factory or the ruins but I stayed at an AYCE/AYCD place where my wife and I had people bringing us tacos and margaritas/beers to our lounge chairs all day. But the beach itself was kinda ugly.
