OP, as a married guy this situation isn't entirely abnormal or unfixable. She wants to spend time with you, whether she has a job or not that's entirely irrelevant, especially when OP had stated that she goes to school. Think on the bright side, the fact thats she bitched about not having enough time with you means that she wants to be around you, and that's not at all a bad thing. Relationship isn't just a business partnership brah, you need to devote attention and time to it, can't just pay the bills and say "here you go" and expect any girl to be okay with being neglected.
With that saud, I would set an ultimatum with her, explicitly state how much her neediness is bothering you. If she's too selfish to give you some breathing room then it's definitely not for you. I feel you on the family gathering though, you shouldn't be forced to attend that chit.
