Indeed. That's a great point. Other post-WWII generations were able to get jobs that could afford those things as soon as they entered into adulthood. Our fellow millennials can't get those things after they rack up thousands in debt and years of time for their degrees.

Think of why our generation is in this situation: The population of the country has nearly doubled since my father entered into adulthood. The Hispanic population has increased from 6 million to 60 million; and I have nothing against Hispanic people, no racism at all intended. I'm just pointing the reasons for why our job market is garbage compared to previous post-WWII generations. It's absolute garbage.

Honestly, many are absolutely screwed..... just imagine in like 10 years time when the middle of the millennials start getting divorced....... you think the social media princesses of this generation aren't going to get bored..... FUKIN LOL you think it's bad now.

Back in the day you could have a house, new car, send your kids to school, and have leisure time all on one blue collar salary. Now a days you basically have to outpace the entire tax brackets to have that.... in other words you need to make min 150K plus to even consider that, more like 200-250K. and 90% of people don't make that much money combined as a couple.

It's going to be horrible in the coming years.

Yes and with a population increase and automation things are only going to get worse. Eventually there's going to be a tipping point.

Same. I don't hate them, but there's no scenario on earth where I'd live with either of them (divorced). It is motivating I guess to not view that as an option.

I feel the same way bruh, if it was 1950-1970, sure maybe.

These days, no chance. between the lower earning/income issues with society and the amplification of female impulses via social media, I really am going to nope out of that.....

Depending on what happens with a few things in the next year or so, I'm getting a vasectomy. I'm almost 30, so I won't get any push back. If it's cheap enough I will freeze some sperm before that.

You think calling me names furthers your oblivious arguments? The system is always rigged, if you don't prepare yourself and/or your children for it dont you think taking some responsibility is the sane approach? If the system is rigged, the gov't wont help you and the education system will fuk you, what is a man to do? Oh right, LDAR is your response. That's kind of sad bro, I expected more from you.

So you agree with me? You feel like as a parent taking responsibility is one solution. There are many others. There is no way you can fix society as a whole. That time will come as we move forward toward automation and skills such as manual labor, service industry, transportation, etc. become increasingly obsolete.

Progress is a slow march and many people get fuked a million different ways. You don't have to live your life as a bitter little man. Being able to enjoy your life and fighting the system don't have to be mutually exclusive. You think many of us haven't thought the same chit you're thinking about right now? That you're somehow enlightened? Lol if you think so highly of yourselves. It's just that most of us have figured out the game since high school and have moved on towards bettering our lives instead of being stuck in a mental ditch. You're 25 m8 it's time to move on, seriously.

What has changed since then? Let's take a look:

1. The population of our country has nearly doubled. Not counting people who are here illegally.
2. The Hispanic population has increased from 6 million to 60 million. Again, not counting people who are here illegally.
3. We have entered into trade agreements that screw Americans.

Mass immigration has depressed our labor market to the point where the average millennial working a similar job simply isn't able to afford the same things as prior post-WWII generations. Poor trade deals and the massive shift in manufacturing has added to the pain by moving quality jobs overseas and giving them to foreigners.

That's the reality of the situation that we're in.
yeah thats sad. and they claim millennial's are just "lazy and entitled". just lmao.

thats sad as fuack tho, babyboomers took everything and left nothing for anyone else, and if you bring it up they claim ur a lazy entitled snowflake millennial lmao.

they never had to deal with real economic trouble because from the 50's to the 2000's chit kept going up and up for them. economic trouble for them was stuff like "well gee, this was a bad month, after all the bills where paid I only have $500 to put in savings instead of the usual monthly $600". chit like that. we can't even do that at all lol.

Yeah that's why I make all of my money at home in my underwear. I've figured out that the vast majority of people will buy anything if they think

1. other people are buying it
2. think it will make them more attractive in some way

Mexicans in the US aren't taking the unionized factory jobs your grandparents used to have... Mexicans in Mexico are, and the unionized part is never coming back whether Trump is stumped or not. So you probably don't want them either way.

/e Hispanics also swing under their weight when it comes to white-collar jobs, so unless you think the real problem is not having enough farm hand, retail or hospitality jobs they aren't the ones crushing young college graduates.

You live in the greatest time in human history and you literally have to look for something to be miserable/complain about. You are "waking up" from a system that screwed you over while you misc on the INTERNET, have plenty to eat, nice clothes, car and have healthcare that most people would feel was "magic" just a few decades ago....ALL that provided from a system that "screwed you over" LOL....JUST LOL

The vast majority of millenials dont know what hunger, child abuse, child labor, disease, etc are. Ironic that you rail against the system that basically removed these issues from being prevalent and persistent in your life. If you want to see what it was like in the "old days" go buy a ticket to India, live as a commoner for a few years and report back. Lets see if you still complain about the "system"...You need to figure out what being truly hungry feels like without having a way to fill your stomach.
This man gets it. I hate how millenials cry and moan about their problems but life has always been hard and they fail to put any effort into making their lives better.

Glad you're doing well, but you didn't respond to my post at all. So you're doing what you want, what's the problem? Seems like the system is working fine for you. You did what you wanted, so can most other people.

Unless you think you're very special. Is that it? Just confused by your post. Like I said I expected a different perspective from you. I've seen a lot of your other posts and I agree with a lot more than most miscers.

As an old guy that grew up on a farm I can assure you it wasnt "better back then" and 99% of todays generation wouldnt last a day on a working farm or in a factory...The most laughable people are the ones that claim it was better back in the pre-civilized generation and that people only worked 4 hours a day...

I'd rather die at 30 and have lived life on my terms, than to die at 70 having spent my life being a wageslave. Zoo animals probably live longer than their wild counterparts as well.

I'm not talking about working on a farm you cuck, I'm talking about building one and maintaining it. Which I can't do because I'll be taxed to death.

Lets see how long the animal populations last if everyone takes up hunting.

thats sad as fuack tho, babyboomers took everything and left nothing for anyone else, and if you bring it up they claim ur a lazy entitled snowflake millennial lmao.

they never had to deal with real economic trouble because from the 50's to the 2000's chit kept going up and up for them. economic trouble for them was stuff like "well gee, this was a bad month, after all the bills where paid I only have $500 to put in savings instead of the usual monthly $600". chit like that. we can't even do that at all lol.
Millennials have serious economic issues that previous post-WWII generations didn't have to deal with.

Since my father entered adulthood the population of the country has nearly doubled, something like 150 million more people are now Americans. That's 150 million more people who need jobs. 150 million more people who need houses. That's why a ****hole in Los Angeles costs hundreds of thousands of dollars, whereas my father could have purchased that same house for a small fraction of that. And back then the neighborhood was better and the schools were better.

Allowing all of those people into the country, the Hispanic population in that time period has gone from 6 million to 60 million and that isn't counting people who are here illegally, has destroyed our labor market. That's why wages are so low. That's why millennials have fewer opportunities than their parents had.

The union argument is scapegoating imo.

The population of the country since 1960 has nearly doubled. The Hispanic population of the country went from 6 million to 60 million. If we add in illegal immigrants then it's at least 10 million higher. That huge influx in immigration severely depressed the labor market. In 1960 a person could easily get a job that paid for a house, a car, and a family. Right now a person cannot easily get a job that affords nearly as much.

That isn't to say that there aren't opportunities now, of course there are, but we can't ignore the fact that millennials are dealing with a tougher economic environment than previous post-WWII generations were and that it's because of the terrible policies that those previous generations implemented. Ridiculous immigration. Ridiculous trade agreements. It all adds up.

4. Have several children.

How many of our fellow millennials earn enough money to have those things? Even most of my friends, late millennials, don't have those things.

Good post but only covers part of it.

I agree though, especially about the baby boomers ruining everything. I know people that retired in their 60's and 70's making over 100k a fcking year. IN RETIREMENT! Why? They were school teachers, librarians, etc. They had it made with their jobs growing up and pensions were promised and they make so much money in retirement that the next generation of teachers is getting 30k a year with no benefits.

Lmao. You can't make this **** up. It's insane.

no thx jeff i'd rather learn to stand on my own two feet, learn to prepare a meal, learn about independence etc, than have to go back living with those fukkers. im not in luxury right now but am still pretty content knowing im completely my own person and making my own way in life. anyone else in the same boat? im 23 btw
I would leave if I were you. I know what it feels like to have a toxic home environment... I started to get all these depressed, paranoid and fuked up thoughts. I didn't move out on my own but I no longer live with them. Felt great to no longer have those thoughts. Of course I still get sad feels when thinking of the past and I sort of feel bad about leaving but you gotta do what you gotta do.

You're right about gaining that knowledge... prepping a meal is like a lost art lol. Nobody can cook for sh!t because everything is made for them.

One thing my parents tried to do which IMO is fuking horrible is they tried to guilt trip me into staying... Like how the fuk can you try to deliberately make me feel bad for leaving knowing how fuked up the situation was? That was a messed up and manipulative thing to do.
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.
