There are so many cookie cutter programs out there. Personally, I get the best results when I take the template of something I like and adjust it to myself. Muscle growth is so different from person to person and you really just have to find what works for you and what weak points you need to attack. I hate when people take these routines as gospel and deviating from them at all is some sort of death wish. It doesn't happen as much on here but places on reddit it can get ridiculous.

I think that most new lifters would get closer to where they want to be aesthetically with less squats, more bench and shoulder exercises and abs and arm accessories, Aka not Starting Strength.
Those bench/squat numbers are actually pretty proportional. This video explains the whole debate pretty well.

Isn't it so you can do more weight at hypertrophy range later thereby building bigger muscles and making more gains because you are moving more weight?

130 strict press @ 129.
17 strict unbroken dead hang pullups - will make it 25 by the end of 2017.
1rm pullup: + 60lbs for sure, 70lbs chin to the bar not sure if above - will make it 90lbs by the end of 2017.

i have no idea why ppl recommend starting strength to people who want to get a developed physique
its not going to do chit, and even if it does some, it's because of newbie gains
just start with moderate weights and 8-14 rep range, that's it
