It's rediculous. My parents are selling their huge 3bd/3 bath house that sits on an acre (LA County) for $866K. They had to take out a loan for $250K in addition to what their making on the house to get them into the area (Pasadena/Altadena) they want...in a smaller house! $1.2Mil for a tiny ars home that still isn't turn-key. It's reduculous.

i've lived in;

Colorado
Arizona
Texas
Utah
Wyoming (unfortunately)
Louisiana
and had a 5 hour layover in Washington State...so that doesn't really count, lol

Not too shabby for someone thats not in the military.

California is over populated and you aren't allowed to build new homes in a lot of the areas people want to live.

Result. Massive price increase in housing.

Native Texan. Lived over 40 years in DFW and have extended family in the CS area. If I would move back I would absolutely look to move near them instead of back in the insanity that DFW has become. CS is a lot bigger than it used to be...just visited last year.
