Millenials do what they have to do. I know two millenial attorneys who bartend. When I first graduated from pharmacy school, I worked at the vitamin shoppe while getting licensed. It was $8.50 an hour, and I took it. Most people do what they have to do to survive. One problem is that we have a surplus of qualified applicants for every job. There's so many resumes being thrown around for every job these days that employers often feel entitled to abuse their workers. I know legit cases where people work unpaid hours just to keep their positions, because it's so hard to get another job.

I am a high school drop out, ged, got my first IT gig from personal hands on exp. The rest is I know how to talk to people.

Gift of gab goes a hell of a long way. Now I am making 55-65k a year with OT.....about to move up into a position that will be roughly 70-90k depending. IT is def one of those fields most people should be looking into....as technology increases, every sub-field of IT increases. Security, support, intelligence, cyber, all of it becomes bigger.

Cities have all the high paying jobs, DC is a small geographic area that's entirely a metropolitan area. Is that the case for any other state in the US?

most babyboomers I have discussed the subject with firmly denied it. I've only met one babyboomer that fully agreed and was aware they had gamed the system. I suspect that most don't even know how things happened and realize what their generation has done.
