Would definitely become well versed at using this suit if I worked/lived in a tall as building.

A rope would be better, climb down that bitch in a fire suit. Rope would have to be fire resistant, and long as fuack

sounds like buying a long rope and rappelling off the side of the building might be the best bet. stack a couple of 45 lb plates on the end of the rope in your room or tie it around something, punch out your window, throw the rope out and start descending. better pray no one else tries to grab your rope and mess things up.

There should be some kind of parachute-jetpack for such situations. Did I just come up with a million dollars idea?

Edit: North Kensington. can confirm that area is a shthole and wouldn't be the target of terrorists.

and just to confirm this is all due to a stupid landlord not following safety protocol????

Yeah. I have family who live in the nice area of Kensington and then I see all these muzzies and chavs on the news now.

Thats the trouble with London, even in the nice areas you're never far from a chithole.

Apparently it was some plastic cladding that was added last year caused the fire to spread so quickly.

I hate watching these things live when they are doing interviews with some of the victims. Just had on ITV the reporter move down the street with a resident talking to them whilst pointing at the flats basically saying....LOOK look at your home, its on fire. what are you going to do now, your whole life is on fire, cry for me cry on TV for me!!!.

Amazed anyone was actually in there. Most of these blocks in London are made to be sold to rich arabs/russians who never occupy them.

You're thinking of another type of "blocks". These are council houses.

I've seen a few sources saying it's a fridge that's exploded. How they know that at this time is beyond me.

Same council got fined a few years back for sub standard flats and fire isssues.

Apparently one of the residents that was interviewed said that his neighbour had confessed to him that his fridge exploded right before the fire. Just rumours at this point, but it wouldn't surprise me. Last year a block caught fire quite close by because of a faulty washer/dryer (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-37203933).

These council blocks are definitely not built with fire safety in mind. That's the tragedy here.

A guy was interviewed and said his neighbor told him it was his fridge that exploded and started the whole fire. I saw the interview 20 to 30 min ago on Sky News. A few hours ago, I heard it was an exploding appliance. Not sure if the came from the same interview.

Yup. Built in the 70s and it's pretty warm today. Like lighting a gasoline soaked log.

No ties to the muslim faith, and will admit I have a bad taste in my mouth about them infiltrating western europe but even I think this is of poor taste. Even by misc standards. Negged.
