12-15% bodyfat, muscular physique will always Trump a 10% skinny guy that just runs and lifts once every two weeks and eats vegetables for breakfast lunch and the occasional time he eats dinner. Probably has low T, weak erections and is is anemic. **** that ****...only time 10% or less is the most aesthetic is when you still retain a ton of mass. Guarentee you if you lift and are 12% bodyfat, you take off your shirt 9/10 girls will get soaking wet, the 1/10 will be a lesbian or coping.

BW means little in gauging power output? Wut lol? Have you not seen what advanced ring gymnast can do lol?

I agree though, BW is definitely not optimal for 'aesthetics' but in terms of Ab Exercises it probably is. The best ab exercises are generally BW : dragonflags, strict toes to bar, windshield wipers, etc.

I mean yeah some of those calisthenic guys on YT are pretty shredded but they're so far in few and who knows who is drinking da juice these days, YMMV with calisthenics training for aesthetics. It really all comes down to genetics. There are guys who can do planche pushups and 360s on bars who are still puny and don't have much muscle mass.
Not as strong as OP, 90lbs+ on pullups and can do 135lbs+ dips but it's not going to pack on mass like high rep lat pulldowns or other tricep exercises.
I do BW exercises simply cause I enjoy it more than boring isolation exercises.

Im done with everything. From now on im cutting down to 150lbs(high 160's right now) this whole bs about being 12-15%bf as a natural is a JOKE. You need to be at least 10% to look aesthetic. Fuk legs, chest, arms and legs, i just want abs now.

It might interest some to know that when it comes to military training that core training is part of their required tests. Strangely, burley brute strength is not.

Haha sarcasm and trolling go over lots of people's heads. I posted my first comment about skinny kids with abs and fat chicks with big tits because I thought that quote was very fitting for what he was saying about skinny guys looking better than guys with actual muscles, simply because they have ripped abs from being skinny.

Op didn't see the joke, and neg repped me with the comment wrong. So I decided at that point it was going to be a troll fest.

I wasn't complaining about being neg repped. That **** doesn't matter. Haha. I'm not on here to make friends. I'm on here to learn about exercising and gather opinions about it from multiple people around the world.

Neg rep me all you want. I thought the **** was funny and a few others must have too because I got repped back to green right away.

As far as abs, I do think it's important to have some abs, but not at the expense of having no other muscle mass. Abs don't look aesthetic on twigs any more than huge guts look aesthetic on strongman competitors.

I happen to have fairly ripped abs myself, because i don't eat very much compared to what I do in the gym. But four months ago, I was the skinny twig with abs op was talking about, because I simply didn't eat a lot but did no real lifting at that time.

Haha you're funny man. The girls in my gym see me benching and can't stop staring. And yes, I'm wearing a shirt so abs are not what they're looking at bro.

Most girls might seem to go for guys with abs and no real muscles, but that's more than likely because they're not confident enough to approach a real man with actual muscles, because they assume he's out of their league.

I know more about women and the way they think than you ever will trying to worry about abs.

Anyone that knows anything about exercising and nutrition understands that abs are NOT a sign of strength. They're a sign of low body fat. People that never train a day in the gym in their entire lives can have abs simply from being 10 percent body fat.

Keep worrying about trying to pick up girls, and stay out of the real men in the gyms way who are there to make actual gains and become actual men, instead of worrying about becoming anorexic females

Low body fat is biggest key for nattys. Without a shirt maybe abs but with a shirt you look auschwitz if you don't lift and have abs. With a shirt it's V-taper which is mostly shoulders

in a war they need ground troops who can run marathons carrying 100 lbs of equipment getting from point to point and not be tired. so conditioning and endurance is more important than strength. you think brute strength matters when we're fighting with guns? maybe back in the medieval days when we're fighting close combat with swords. but that rarely happens now in modern war.

I have horrible ab genetics so it doesn't even matter for my case.

And I like food way too much to get abs.

If I wanted abs with my frame I'd have to be like, 120 lbs and nothxjeff for that.

20% BF? lol the only thing you'll look like you ate is too much ice cream. It must suck to work out for years and get absolutely no attention for your physique.

People that are so lean they have abs but don't have the mass to go with it usually look skinny/flat with clothes on and you really can't tell they lift. No real benefit unless you pop off your shirt all the time.

I've two friends that are both 5'9 with very similar bone structures. Both walk around shredded year round (Single digit bodyfat). One is 145lbs and looks skinny/small. He has to take his shirt off for anyone to see the abs. Great definition but very little mass. The other is 185-195lbs. Even in a long-sleeve shirt its obvious that he's jacked.

I'd rather be the latter.

20 percent can look a whole lot different on each person. You're making a bold statement based on nothing but your very limited knowledge on the human body and how body fat works.

He could be 6'5 for all you know which is going to look a **** load different than 20 percent on a 5'4 frame.

And believe it or not, everyone isn't lifting to bro out and pick up chicks. Some people lift to get stronger. Strange, huh?

Even if he does have a huge belly, if he's lifting strongman competition weight, I'm sure he gets plenty of attention anyway.

Worrying about what girls think only shows your lack of self esteem and self confidence in your self. Getting laid isn't the only thing that matters in this world. Maybe once it happens a few times for you, you'll realize that too.

^^^agreed. You shouldn't have to remove your shirt for people to know you lift. If you do, you're doing it wrong.

How do you people worrying about what women find attractive, expect to pick up a woman in a real world setting, where you won't have your shirts off???
