playing vgs is fun. i have a job and several friends, my friends are married and play xbox.

we are a diff generation than our parents. maybe your uncle just doesn't like what he doesn't understand. im sure his vices the generation before didn't like. "why are you kids watching all that tv instead of reading a book?" or some other related bs.

I don't know anyone around 30 that's successful that DOESN'T play video games.

I didn't slave away for a STEM degree to just fukkin chuck everything I enjoy out the window. Hell, most of my office lan parties and games together. Litterally, there has been no point in my adult life in which most of my co-workers or friends haven't logged like 20 hours a week gaming while also lifting and finishing grad school. Once we hit our mid 20s, grad school was done so now we have kids that take up that time but still, plenty of time left for gaming.

I find it really weird, and kind of pathetic, when people judge what others do with their spare time. Gaming isn't any different than watching football or playing golf. Anyone who feels the need to put someone else's hobbies down needs to look at themselves a little more closely.

From what I've noticed, its pretty much a 50/50 response thread.

All the time I was thinking if I was to get rid of video games, what will I do in my free time? Especially when I am all alone in late nights.
