What a lot of people seem to forget or not have knowledge of is that Rich Piana was one of the first top tier Bodybuilders to come clean on YouTube about celltech. He spoke clearly and truthfully about everything that was going on and kept it 100% real while most Olympia level bodybuilders insisted (when in public) that they were completely natural (while often crediting their sponsors' products for their physiques). Rich obliterated all of that almost single handedly.

Rich wasn't the greatest speaker, but whenever he talked, he laid it out exactly how it was with zero pretense on his part. Educating people about what was really going on with bodybuilding and bodybuilders was the reason why he got so popular in the first place. The man dared to speak on a taboo subject like nobody else before him had and would often go into great detail to describe a side of bodybuilding that was almost never spoken about.

Before Piana, it was really tough to find any kind of credible information about the do's and don'ts of professional bodybuilding unless you scoured through hundreds of posts (most of them opining differently) on illegal internet message boards. After Piana, the subject became less taboo and people started discussing it more openly. As a ripple effect, Piana actually contributed greatly to making professional bodybuilding safer for everyone by distributing information that was straight forward and free of any bullcrap.

In his life, Rich was a kind soul who got taken for a ride by his ex wife and many others around him. His eccentric ways ended up making him a meme but he didn't really care and took it all in his stride, joyfully, at that. Piana was a self made, self motivated, hard working guy who was genuinely one of the coolest people in the fitness industry and while he may not have been as "inspirational" as most of his pretentious peers, he had a wealth of knowledge and didn't hesitate to share it for free unlike others.

His passing is unfortunate because it seemed like he had finally gotten his life together with his new girlfriend and was actually beginning to enjoy the fruits of his hard work. The man looked genuinely happy in his recent videos and it really appeared as if he had finally started preparing himself for a life after bodybuilding.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends, family and to his departed soul. May Piana rest in peace. He may be gone now but he certainly won't ever be forgotten and despite what anyone else may say, he was, is and will always remain a legend in the Bodybuilding community.

I'm not trying to bash Rich, but he was not a top tier bodybuilder as you say. He was also in the supp bis to make quick money selling the same crap everyone else does.

But yeah pretty crazy, I don't keep up with Genova for a year and now Rich died? Was he Order 66'd?

Bigger news is Dallas mcarver also died, apparently from choking

Has there been an official confirmation that was actually due to his high gear usage or is the story still that he hit his head and that caused a lot of complications (made worse due to cell tech?)

this part is really sad. yeah he said she was his true love and they got back together by chance. and he also made his dream come true about getting a new bentley. from all his past videos he was always saying how he couldn't really afford it. that is why he was driving old chitters. but yeah, it looked like things were really going well for him.

and then damn, he was about to release his own protein bar made of real food with healthy fats, without all that added sugar and other crap. and was working on a keto bar next. dude was a hard worker for sure. loved what he did. rip

I liked Rich because of how honest he was. Can't say I looked at him and thought goal physique, but as a man I respected him. I hope if nothing else comes out of this it's that even men can suffer the ravages of having a body image issue. RIP sir.

This is a chitty week for bodybuilding man. First Dallas, now Rich. I really enjoyed both of their content. Rich had a lot of great videos, and gave a lot back to the fans. Dallas also had awesome training videos. I took a lot of the methods and applied them myself.

RIP to both, very sad.

All the haters and *******s talking chit, he is a human that died and if you cannot have some sorta semblance of respect for that fact, go seek help because you're a sociopath.
