Thanks every one who donated. There's a shelter near my place, brought food and supplies. Bringing dirty clothes home and washing them. Mostly children and older people. There are so many supplies/clothes/food/water donated it's nice to see.

Hey brah are there any local charities/non-profits/shelters that I can donate directly to? I donated to the red cross during the haiti earthquake, and upon learning nothing was done with the money I was done with them. I would like to go the direct route because I know exactly where my money is going.

I know they get a bad name sometimes but I've been through two major hurricanes in my adult life and they were always there to serve hot food and give out supplies. A lot of people would have starved if not for them. They are large and can reach places most charities can't.

Also just bought a shirt from a company that said the proceeds are going to Hurricane Harvey relief. And I will also be taking 3 bags of non-perishables to my university tomorrow and will be taking a ton of clothes to a middle school by my house where flood victims are staying.

Hey, I just wanted to let you guys know I'll be back posting & prepping ppl in this thread ASAP. I had a flood in my house in the middle of the night, so I had to have a plumber come out & fix it. I got sewer sludge on my carpets, so I had to move all my electronics and all I'm using is my phone right now. My sleep schedule is a little weird right now too, so I'm going to try coming back to this thread tonight or tomorrow depending on what the situation is.

I also wanted to let you know if you need to keep up with the weather and news, if you're not on Twitter, then go sign up. It's like ham radio when there's emergencies.

I have a weather feed for the DFW area, but they're mostly talking about Houston right now, so you can kind of use it. But I recommend creating your own Houston Sever/Emergency Weather list. You can steal some accounts from mine because they're state wide accounts.

I've tried to make it as unbiased as possible, but obv not everyone is going to agree with my sources. With breaking news like a hurricane or a plane crash or something it's hard to be biased that early on & that's what I've gone for. But, obviously I can't control what every news outlet posts/doesn't post.


Back to the weather:
Some of the shared accounts for all across the State of TX are like NWSTornado, BuzzFeedStorm, TDEM (TX office of emergency mgmt), Texas Weather Alerts, Tonado Titans, TXDot, TXDps, NOAA & probably a few others.

*** Also!!! Look at my Hurricane Emergency Post! When it first started hitting Houston I posted a ton of Twitter accounts for Houston related weather, flood etc etc etc emergency accounts for everything I could think of. So, go here:
