All I can do is tell you what worked for me. Stoicism, TRP, realizing all the good things I do daily, and working on improving myself in all aspects I deem important.
Sometimes all you need is sometime to tell you, "We're all gonna make it brah."

Go back bro. Go back next week.
My GP surgery had 4 doctors that I could see, I saw all 4 of them on rotation because I was going in every 3-4 weeks to get sick notes (fit notes they call them now)

Was getting them hoping that I could be signed off sick, the process was 5 months long to apply which kept me seeing a GP even though they were useless but I was denied that too by the government which was why I became homeless... declared "fit to work" by the fcking Tories

Had one of the lady doctors crying one week because I got upset when she brought my Dad up, who I'm estranged from... she was upset she couldn't do anything, she even wrote the government on my behalf telling them I wasn't fit to work and that there was no way I should be made to sign on for jobseekers instead of disability... but they didn't care, I saw a nurse the government hired and apparently she knew better than the Doctor... I appealed, they denied my appeal, they wanted me to go to court if I wanted to appeal it again but at that point I was already homeless

I tried to read your earlier thread you just posted, and forgive me, but I'm still not exactly sure what your main issue is. Seems like you are regretting some decisions from years ago that have negatively hurt your future. Also a possible disability issue and depression/anxiety and stuff. You don't have a terminal illness right?

I will say that your issues seem alot more serious than the typical BS a lot of miscers post about complaining about a lack of a Gf and other trivial problems. Most people here won't be able to relate. Posting here and looking for genuine advice is probably not something you will find on this forum, or most forums. This is why I think finding a good GP and therapist would help much more than posting on here about your issues.

All either yellow letters from the NHS, or the brown envelope/white letter sent out by the government - have so many I've had to organise them into folders grouped by which way I was phucked over that particular time

Try the self authoring suite by jordan peterson. I started the Past authoring and cried like a bitch as soon as I started. Was never able to get those things out to anyone even therapists I've been seeing over the years.

it gets better dude. It may seem like it never will, but it truly does. Can't tell you anything else.

Surround yourself with good people, do things you love and set goals, fantasise about your future and keep pushing forward.

Absolutely this.

Mostly everyone you find on the internet will be completely unqualified in helping you, opie. We can share stories and hug and all that, and that may feel good at first, but it does absolutely fuk all at fixing you. What I've learned dealing with depression for 17 years is even people who have gone through similar bs that you have can't help you. You need to keep looking and looking and looking until you find someone who you can trust. It's just like with everything in life.

So, keep at it. Find someone that you feel comfortable sharing yourself with, and get better.

I find it hard to believe that you have not been offered anti depressants and/or referred to a mental health assessment.

Go back to the GP and don't even mention anything about being signed off sick.

If they don't offer you meds/help did you know that you can go to A&E and tell then you're suicidal? I know this for a fact. Just fukking get to the GP next week and report back.

The intention was never to be signed off sick I didn't even have a job at the time - that was something they mentioned.

There was no real mental health assessment... there was a disability assessment done that was by the government nurse I mentioned, but they mostly focused on the physical things - one of the questions was about incontinence like ?? .. no I don't piss myself of the daily can we stick to what's relevant... The fact I'd recently had surgery was also of no interest to them, as long as I wasn't in pain they said I was "fit to work" (didn't matter that I was only not in pain because of the pain meds I was throwing back).

The second thing I got was an initial mental health assessment to decide which therapy I should be referred to, that was after 4 months waiting on a list seeing only a GP to see this person. I got 40 minutes and she was looking at the clock when i got to 40 trying to rush me but I stayed until I finished my story for a full hour. She wrote down my answers to 12 topics I think it was, and said I was being referred for CBT

The waiting list for that began, I got 5 months into it and then I became homeless because I wasn't being given any disability money and I'd blown through my savings, moved out of the area to live with my girlfriend, I was having my mail forwarded but it took too long - they sent a letter telling me to contact them on a certain phone number within 2 working days and because of the delay in my mail getting to me they struck me off the waiting list and told me I had to start all over again at my GP - and I just blew them off cos I was sick of all their chit, figured I could live with my girl for a while, get a job and go from there without therapy since they weren't willing to help me... then we broke up, she kicked me out, I was back on the street, then I worked my way off the street, got a part time job, struggling still tho

I've also been to a&e a few times suicidal, dragged kicking and screaming once by a copper... they have what's called "crisis care" the aim of which is only to calm your state of mind until they think they can let you go without you being a danger to yourself, you get a slice of toast and a brew and then get sent on your way pretty much, there isn't any aftercare they just make a record of it and tell you to go to your GP, and then the whole cycle begins again

People want to try to blame me, but I did everything right... everything I could have done... previous to this I got a degree, I had a good job, I had 12 months living expenses saved up etc etc ... shit happens though right... I think people want to blame me because they want to believe it couldn't happen to them, or their kids, or their brother or their sister... or their mum

Perhaps your depression is circumstantial, rather than 'chemical imbalance'. I don't know.

Guy I know went to the docs and told him how he felt. Came out with a prescription for meds and a team of mental health professionals contacted him within 7 days.

Your docs sound quite franky wank.

Yeah I think it's circumstance too tbh

I've no idea what's going on, where these proper doctors at then? I knew something wasn't right with all of this but I've nothing to compare it with, seems like luck of what you get stuck with it's not as if you can register at a doctors that you don't live near so unless you got money/insurance to go private you pretty much get what you're given

Go to docs and directly ask for meds.

I'm afraid of getting stuck on them, I had a stint with the painkillers like that I got that addictive personality

I'm more interested in that "contacted in 7 days by a whole squad of mental health pros" I need me some of that chit, I could ask for the antidepressants and then just wait it out a week before I take the first to see if they do contact me but I can't figure out why the waiting lists I was on were so long then? Makes no sense we live less than 30-40 miles apart (unless this mate was from elsewhere)

Some people are on them for life.

If they help, why live in misery?

The guy I know who got them, they didn't work for him. But other people seem to have success with them.

You can also self refer to this mental health team btw. They are called 'MIND' or some chit like that.

Op I remember you, you are the guy who was having a bad day a while back so decided to go out and attack a random person on the street.... and did.

Do you still do things like this?

Cliffs on what issues Opie is facing?

And I mean the tangible issues rather than the psychological issues; the psychological issues are apparent from Opie's myriad of posts.

Nice name to post ratio content here Braw

It is obvious that even though Betas are not "Beta" you think removing stress etc is the simplest answer/theory - when ffor the vast majority of us it's not - even guy's who suffer even minus stress!!!

It's good chit man, I was always about vodka (and to a lesser extent white rum) back partying and clubbing in my late teens and early 20's trying to get something that had as little taste as possible, so I could mix it with coke and make them strong and get it down easier so I could get drunk

Now most of my drinking is done alone and for my enjoyment I want to be able to taste it and dark rum is one of the best tasting spirits imo, tastes very natural
