my 4 year old samsung phone had a oled screen. the ground breaking iphone just got it now many years later, and is charging 1k for it.

just compare them to prices of computers like ten years ago. I remember having to spend like 1200 for POS. iphones are insane with how much **** you can do on them. it is a big expense no doubt but I have a 6s and will definitely upgrade in like a year.

Won't be buying one but I really don't understand the hate. If people are gonna pay then why the fuk would Apple not charge those prices? I would understand if it was a necessity, but it's a damn luxury item. Why aren't you guys hating on Louis Vuitton and other luxury brands for overcharging for their chit?

Don't need a bailout. I have fully accepted my debt and have been paying it back. I also didn't say I'd vote for student loan forgiveness. Just that it is going to happen very soon.

price per usage probably puts it way ahead compared to some of your other possessions

obviously if you only use your phone 10 - 20 mins per day max then yeah, no point paying that much but i doubt thats the case for most people

Yeah it is. I don't live paycheck to paycheck by any means but no way would I pay $1,000 for something I can get for free with a 2 year plan from phone carrier. I just need it to make calls. I could go to 3 different carriers and break the contract and still come out cheaper than a single iPhone.

I do understand having some items as status symbols or clique requirements but this is pushing it.

I don't care what it cost to make, it's the value. $1K isn't that much for something you use almost constantly. Of course, does it have value to you? I watched Apple's video and they sure do like to use adjectives. Okay, neat, but what does it really do that is so great it makes it worth it?

Grow some balls. Iphone has been **** lately and you cucks know it. They charge whatever they want because of iMessage and the UI, thats it. They havent been innovative in half a decade or more. They wait for other companies to develop tech and then give it some fancy i-name and claim its theirs. The only thing keeping them afloat is their whole user environment which alienates you when you leave.

Latest things have been taking away both the headphone jack and TouchID, two completely perfect pieces of tech suddenly deemed "outdated" by a company that took 3 years to make things water proof and offer wireless charging that fukcing toothbrush companies mastered years ago.

We should DEMAND Apple actually give us a product worth 1K. This is not it. As an android user, I was excited to switch back to Apple but they really dropped the ball on this one...

Can you tiny dikc *******s end your internet pissing contest and get back to the topic at hand: That the iPhone X is a horrible excuse for a new phone and offers little value for the price tag? I dont want to hear you guys e-stat your salaries or pretend to be balling or whine about other people whining. Its a discussion on a ****ty phone. No one cares if you still will buy it, the topic at hand should be WHY apple continues to pump out phones with gimmicky "features" when most people probably want something more practical.

I wouldn't pay that much for a phone especially for a phone with not that much difference than the previous phone and anyone who says 1,000 dollars ain't alot of money is full of sht.
