This whole thread is full of hate. I just watched the video on YouTube, and Phil Heath was way more aesthetic than the second place person. Those pictures don't do justice, watch the actual footage. Phil has a Better taper and everything. The other guy just beats him in size....

Lol @ anyone who thought Phil wasn't going to win. I have zero horses in the race, as I don't care for modern bodybuilding, but there was no surprise when I saw that he won while scrolling insta. Marc Lobliner said something about Big Ramy looking soft compared to Phil, yet Phil looked like he hadn't peaked at all. Regardless, they will both be crippled and eventually dead soon, so whatever.

This what a waist line is supposed to look like

Your life will never be a straight path.”
“To not only take risks, but to be open to life. To accept new views and to be open to new opinions. While it may be frightening, it will also be rewarding. Because the chances you take… the people you meet… the people you love…the faith that you have—that’s what’s going to define your life.”
“And when you fall throughout life, fall forward.”

These no going back now. Bodybuilding is now a freak show and the art of aesthetics is dead. Bigger isn't better actually. Bodybuilding between 50s-70s was truly a golden era and we witnessed the pinnacle of man(No homo) in its finest form from muscle mass, symmetry, definition along with positive health markers like clear glowing skin, full set of head and healthy faces.

What we witnessed in the most recent Olympia is the straw that broke the camel’s back. This was a long time coming, I see no way back for the “sport”. The physiques are grotesque, mass monsters, too dry and don’t even resemble a human or anywhere near the pinnacle of bodybuilding. Also the average Joe all but now knows the reality of bodybuilding. It isn’t sadly just hard work, diet and genetics but a magical genie in the bottle.

This man above killed the sport. Bodybuilding died around the late 80s and early 90s, it lost that appeal and wonder when the mass monsters took over and aesthetics died. Also even in the modern classic physiques they killed the physiques due to dryness.

Offensive to look at as Phil is, he still wins because people immersed in the sport now defined whatever Phil looks like as the goal everyone has to achieve. So it doesn't matter how much bigger his opponents are, or how much less pregnant than him they look, they lose to him because of that certain intangible something that his supporters and "experts" have trouble defining. That's because the definition is: "looks the most like whatever Phil looks like".
Newbies coming in all ask "why tf does the little narrow guy with the huge gut win?" and experienced experts are all "you just don't understand the subtleties of the sport, if you did you'd see why he's really the pinnacle".

It's still there and very noticeable. But, as most have said (not ITT) he isn't judged on gut alone......Phil has the whole package minus the gut. Hard to give it to Big Rammy when phil out poses him......and Big Rammy's hammies need work....
