Have one I got at 18......don't regret it but never been proud of it or anything. I forget I have it until someone asks about it...gf has two which I'm not a fan of but I manage to block them out and cant be a hypocrite and care too much.

My favorite part about tattoo culture is the cognitive dissonance people have with their mediocre/terrible ink.
They spent so much, and thought about it so much, and get so emotionally involved in the process. They convince themselves it has such a deep meaning, and that it'll change their life and how people perceive them. Then they get the ink, and stumble on threads like this a few years later. Their experiences come rushing back to them -- people reacting to their tattoos, not really caring. They sense the disingenuous undertones of people's reactions.
Rather than come to terms with how terrible and cringy their ink is, they double down and defend it. It's hilarious
They spent so much, and thought about it so much, and get so emotionally involved in the process.
