Never had any moments like that. I've been at the same gym since I was 13, and had some bullchit experiences with characters that have passed through the gym. I was young though(14-17) so I never had the balls to speak up, and haven't had any issues at all in the past few years. Had this old timer say he would of kicked my ass back in the day because I walked past him while he was incline pressing dbs while looking at himself. Mind you I was like 15 lmao. Middle aged black guy always comes with some asian chick, accidently took one of her weights and he got all mad about it, dude ended up saving my life a couple years later when the gym was empty and I had 225 stuck on my chest lmao

The gym is the expanded "front" for all things on people being rude and inconsiderate to each other - the footpaths are still the main one.

I don't usually confront people are it's pretty obvious that everyone believes they are the best and have a right to space/ equipment over others.

The well mannered people don't really ask how many sets you have left, nor do they get in your space. Ironically, those that ask do not share, so I also say no to them if they ask if they can work in.

Treat others as you would like to be treated. And don't put others first. It would be naive too. LOL at manlets and fat sloots thinking they are hot stuff.
"The manlet is a savage beast that knows no moral bound. After falling in disgrace to a manmore, a ravaged manlet would not hesitate to come from behind and land a sucker punch/ swing with a rock to the back of a manmore's head. They are ruthless and you need to spend some more time in the gutter to even begin trying to comprehend what goes on in their minds."

Crowded af 24 hr fitness, needed to do deads. Saw a loaded bar on the platform with nobody near it, so I just walked up and started stripping plates to warm up. Agro brah walks over from the nearby squat rack like "hey dude I'm using that in-between my squat sets" with a lot of attitude-- like how dare I try and use some equipment that looks deserted. I just looked him dead in the eye and said "not anymore" and took that chit.

Normally I would have been a lot more polite (see sig)but I was on autopilot and didn't have any tolerance for bullchit that day.

Small uni gym, no leg press. For legs I do squats, Romanian DL and calf raises.
That day I did leg curls waiting for those 2 *******s to finish. After watching them for 30-40 mins they tell me I can't join in lol and have to wait for another 10 sets, was furious.

1. Some half mentally ill guy was standing in front of my locker, I asked him kindly to move and he said "WAIT TILL IM DONE" I was just shocked so I waited like a solid 5 minutes as he was saying profanities at me then he waited in the lobby for me and was shouting at me more. I was only a skinny teen back then and this dude was like 50.

2. I was dumbell pressing 100's and then after my last set some guy walks up to me and asks if I'm done, and I said yeah now I am. He shouted "why dont you put them back then!" and he was red in the face and trembling from anger. I just told him I just finished and he went "HEH". He then walked them over to his bench and he could hardly get out 1 rep. Dude apparently was in the CFL, such a ****.

It's leg day and I go into a tiny Anytime Fitness and there is this wannabe powerlifting ho squatting in squat rack. So, I get on the leg press and start putting on weights and getting ready, she yells out "I'm using that." I completely ignore her and continue to do my thing. She racks her sh&t and comes over and says "I'm using this." I said this is a small gym and it doesn't belong to you, one station at a time. She says "I'm doing super sets and you don't make the rules here" blah blah blah. I keep doing my sh&t. She puts her hand on the weight bar while i'm loading plates and I pretend I don't see it and keep pushing weights on. She gets in my face, and I yell out in a loud Will Ferrell voice "if you touch me I will fear for my life and I will protect myself, and if you touch my weights while i'm working out and injure me I will call the police." Almost immediately the manager is in our presence, I ignore him and her while I continue to work out and do whatever I want while she talks to him and complains. Son I don't give two fuks, I am beta and get my sh&t done, even if I have to go full autistic. I'm not gonna be pushed around.

Strong insecurities ITT.

I have never witnessed a confrontation at my gym (10 years +). Every guy that is sizable knows it, and doesn't need to posture up to prove it. Sounds like most of your need to reevaluate your lives... SRS

Never had a confrontation. I've had people start doing those shoulder warm up things with 2.5 lb plates right in front of me while I'm doing deads or rows, but that's it. I never really said chit cuz I the motion and effect I'm aiming for, the mirror is just to motivate myself when my muscles flex lmao.

I'm always nice in the gym and let people work in when they ask, spot when asked, and generally do my best to get along with everyone.

But once, while in the bathroom I see this pig takes a piss and doesn't wash his hands. I approach him by the weights and ask him if he plans to wash his hands, explain how Id prefer if he didn't contaminate the dumbells with his dick sweat. He looks me dead in the eyes and says "I didnt touch my dick".
I laughed and said "are you going you wash your hands or do I need to embarass you?"

Off he went to wash his hands.

On another occasion I was at a gym I dobt frequent with a chick I was seeing. I was doing seated DB curls and she was doing them standing to my right. To her right, was a juiced up manlet.

Inbetween one of her sets she put the DB's on the ground and the manlet moves a bench into her area, essentially forcing her to leave or work between two benches (no way).

She looked at me like wtf? The manlet then goes to the rack to grab dumbells, so I get up and kinda move the bench over back where it was in the way youd kick your shoes off at the end of a long day. Hes walking back over as he sees me do this and I tell him "thats where your bench stays." No confrontation though.

She was embarrassed and rushed me to leave after lmao.

I once had some visibly autistic inbred chitbrick try to start a fight with me because I was in his bubble, I guess. I tried to use some equipment near him and he went apechit at me. He was literally shaking when he was yelling at me. No srsly, full vibration mode on this twat. I could tell he was legitimately retarded or something so I figured I'll let him do whatever he wants or else he will come up behind me and smash a plate over my head.

I told the front desk about the guy and they instantly knew who I was talking about. I saw the guy once more since then but he turned and left the gym as soon as I made eye contact with him. Haven't seen him since then.

Not a confrontation but. Some guy was jumping back and forth between the bicep curl and pec fly machine. I thought he was finally done with the curl machine so i sat down and started to warm up. I look at him in the mirror and clearly see him smirking at me from the fly machine like im a stupid jackass. He comes over and asks if he can get back on and do another set. I said ok.

I tend to ignore most people while I work out, but in my previous gym there was one of those "special" characters: he would basically run around the gym (between tight spaces in the free weight area, to between treadmills etc.) between every set. Stare at people and mock them openly.

He was routinely ignored by everyone. Until he approached me while I was doing a cable row + seated db power clean superset. As soon as I finished the row reps, he started flicking his towel towards my face while I was doing the power cleans. He did this repeatedly. I put the weights down when I was done my reps and simply asked "What are you doing? I'll be done with this station when I'm done, and flicking that towel does nothing". He tried to push through me to sit on the station as soon as I said this but I deliberately blocked him and repeated the question.

Someone else in the gym came over and told me that this person has "special needs", and I argued that this does not justify flicking a towel towards someone's face. This guy was escorted away by staff at the gym and a few women came up to me in the rest area saying they are glad I confronted him because he would stand behind them while they are on the treadmill staring open mouthed with a smirk.

If I open a gym someday I will permanently ban people like that.

Your response does not show anything except a statement: "it does". If someone has special needs that results in them acting in an aggressive way to people around them, that person should not be let in a place like a gym without supervision. It is not up to the world around someone to conform to that particular person's expectation. And that person was acting out of line in numerous ways, per my post which you selectively quoted.

My level of understanding does not want in any way, shape or form. Thanks.

I have confidence that you could read between the lines so I kept my response to a benign act succinct. Was he tossing weights across the area? I've been around some "normal" people that do that much.

Thanks for clarifying. His behaviour (as reported to me in addition to what I witnessed) ranges from sexual harassment (the proximity behind the women on treadmills - probably close enough to the way Kimm earlier described the person who put his face underneath her station) to attempts at intimidation (trying to walk through people, or flicking his towel in someone's face).

I mean I'm not an expert lifter, but I find seated DB power cleans quite hard. I'm doing 12kg dumbbells (my max) for reps now and on the up swing that towel flicked in my face within a few cm and it was not particularly easy for me to remain calm.

The long and short of it is, the gym is no place for harassment and/or active intimidation.
